Which update are you referring to? Quaterly case inventory by visa office?
I believe they released the data for Q4 2011 in April, so the next one (Q1 2012) would likely be sometime in June.

Or are you referring to some other data that CIC releases?

Yes, Processing times for sponsorship of parents and grandparents applications processed by visa offices outside Canada.

For my area these are the times; Last quarterly update: January 23, 2012

Americas Visa Office Processing Times
IN MONTHS
(based on a complete application package)

Updates from CIC as of May 07, 2012
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp

Parents and Grandparents
Step 1 Processing Time
39-55 months

(working on applications received on September 11, 2007 – 18 February 2009*)

*Sponsors who submitted sponsorship applications to CPC-M between 11 September 2007 and February 18, 2009, should have received a letter at the end of November requesting additional forms, documents, and information required for case processing. If you did not receive such a letter and have evidence that you submitted your sponsorship application during this period (September 2007 to February 2009), please contact the Call Centre to inform them of your situation.

Usually www.sponsorourparents.org website publishes those updates (at least that is where I view it - not sure where the originial data is posted)

Kitt is referring to the information available on the page available at below noted link

Thanks Rajaji,

This is exactly what I am asking about, are the updates normally late? This would give us a good indication if the processes have sped up or slowed down.

As per the projections and target for issuing visas it seems that during 2012 Local Visa Offices will be processing the cases which they had in the inventory as of 31 Dec 2011. If that is the case all files transferred to LVO's may not be processed further until end of 2012 or early 2013. Ottawa cases may be processed quickly.

What address (of New Delhi) did you post it to?

It was mailed here:
Canadian High Commission
Immigration Section
7/8 Shantipath
Chanakyapuri
New Delhi - 110021

PS: Couriers won't accept PO Box addresses.

Not true for all LVO. File transfer to Singapore, ND and Damascus in 2012 will not be processed untill end of 2013. Above LVO must speed up the process or have more quota. No one get any any update from those LVO yet. My observation find Singapore is working on 2006 applicant, ND is on early or mid 2007 applicant. Some Local LVO like Dhaka,Bangladesh has been close and all files move to singapore. Not sure how they will speedup.

Thanks !
I know that page but I gave up on checking it - the data is still outdated .. I did not realise they were supposed to update it quarterly. Would be interesting to see if the average went down (it would still be high because they base it on past 12 months).

We need to make a copy of this current page to be able to compare later. :-)

Are you sure that files moved to singapore,ND and Damascus will not be proessed untill end of 2013?? CIC plans to clear all application by 2013 so as to start the restructurd program for parents and grandparents. I understand that they are taking longer time now but it shouldn;t take more than a year after file transfer.

I see a user named BHUV2004 whose file with a dependent was sent to CPP-O. Is this a mistake or it is possible? My understanding is that all the files with dependent are transferred to local visa offices.

This is my prediction based on the data and current speed. Not sure how they will clear that backlog. Singapore is issuing visa for 2006 applicant , almost 5 month gone this year. How they will clear the backlog ? They got less quota then current inventory for this year. When they will end up with 2007 applicant?my file transfer in January, no AOR yet? don't see any Hope this year? But you never know CIC can do anything if they really want.

Received letter yesterday application is complete and be processed in queue. ;D. Letter was dated April 26. Ecas is still not accessible. Hope to hear for next step soon.

there are explicit questions about surgeries, cancer, heart diseases, tuberculosis, etc in the form that doctor is filling in and the parents are signing...

here are the forms:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/publications/dmp-handbook/appendix-02.asp

I don't recalling filling up any forms. We went to DMP and they then did the test and doctor asked questions, thats all. This was in 1997.

My mom just got visitor's visa to Canada. Applied Feb 15. 2012. Did her medicals for TRV on March 29 (a day before the file was transferred to Ottawa) and got her visa on May 05.
Now she needs to do another medicals for PR.
