A question regarding translations:

My parents are in their home country and so are their key documents. THey got notarized copies of those documents and had them translated by a translator in their home country and the translator's identity /signature was verified by notary public. However, that second verification by notary public is actually in their native language! This is the standard way the documents are prepared in my home country and our local visa office accepts (my parents actually did those translations in preparation to apply to a local office hoping that this time will come soon, but then the instructions changed).

However, now I am thinkiing that we are sending this to Mississauga, not to the local office (at least not initially), so does that mean I need to get this final verification part translated somehow as well? I.e. get a translator here (in Canada) to translate the part (notary public final statement) is not yet translated into English?

Anyone had a simiar issue? How are you approaching this for your parents (if they are back in their home country)? Are your notary public/translation agencies provide affidavit or verify translator's identity in English or in your native language?

Hope we do not have to pay again for translations :-( (it takes time and money)

Thanks,
Anna

My case:

hello
i want to know that when they sent u letter in november about imm008 so beside that form what else that asked and which other forms they asked to send them as i appreciate if anyone reply as i started sponsering in end of april 2009 and i did not get any of those forms
as i appreciate for reply
thanks

Anik, it says on the letter you have to mail the documents to Mississauga, not their local visa office.

I think you don't need to get another authorization in Canada, the immigration should be used to this, BUT I would, just in case.

hi Mash, as far as i see this letter is only send to those applicant who sumitted their applications in 2008, i think after few months they will send the letters to 2009 applicants once they are close to done the 2008 applications. also just FYI they requested the IMM008 ,IMM5669,IMM5406 see below webcites fomr more details.

Hi,
I applied for sponsoring my parents in Oct 2009. I did not receive any letter requesting more documents. Since we know what forms are requested, can we be proactive and just send them ? Any thoughts? Did you hear about any 2009 applicants that received the letter?

My husband applied in Dec 2008 for his parents and he has not received this November letter (my app was Dec 2007 and I did get one) So, they probably had some cut off date and even some people with year end 2008 applications have not received anything yet.

Not sure about being proactive - maybe you can call and ask?

Hi guys plz help did not recieve any new letter to fill :( i applied in april 2008 for parents got acknowlegement letter in may 2008....what should i do? can i print out the forms from website?

No Kandel, you can not, my sister also applied to sponsor my mom in August 2008 and we received the letter, they put in the letter that we should submit all the forms and documents back along with the letter sent to us by them. So I guess it is better you call them.

hi everyone! does anyone know if non-accompanying dependents also need to give proof of continuous full time studies that is complete school records, letters from the school indicating hours and days attended and proof of full financial support by parents.
what documents do u have to show for financial support by parents? and also where do i get photo specification? they say appendix A but i dont find it in CIC website.

786, if they're non accompanying you don't need to bother to show proof of full time studies. However if they are on the form they do need to complete the Background Information form and the Additional Family Information, as well as get pictures and when the time comes, they will ask for them to do the medicals as well, regardless if they're accompanying or not.

go the below wb cites for the photo specifications.

Hi Mash,
I applied for my in-laws in 2009 and did not received yet, but for my parents, that i applied in early 2008, i received the letter. I guess you should wait till you receive the letter. meanwhile, you can download forms and work on it to save some time.

all the best.[
