Hi All,

For self-addressed labels, should this be of Canada (if i'm representative) or should it be my home country's address?

Thanks.

It should be the Mailing Address that you specified in IMM008 - which ultimately would be the same address you provided in the Representative Form, if you were the representative.

There is a misconception that the validity of a PCC is 3 months. CIC states that the date of issue of a PCC should not be less than 3 months of the date of application. That means one cannot submit a 'old' pcc (just like photographs). The general validity of a PCC is one year. I would recommend, if a file has been forwarded to a visa office, one should submit the pcc there (remember - CIC did suggest in their Nov 25th letter that we have to take steps to get pcc?). I am going to mail my mom's pcc later this week to NDL even though I have not received such a request.

Hi Sakamath,
Some people do get confused re 3 months vs 1 year, but we talked about 'expiry' we used 3 months period only because if PCC was not submitted then it is useless for submission purposes after 3 months. So we were discussing whether we should submit it even without request from a local VO (otherwise once PCC is past 3 months we may as well consider it expired if not submitted).

So I am with you on that - I will mail my parents' certificates before they expire (at least maybe they will not request another one right away in this case - it is a hassle for my parents to go get it and it takes a month to be issued)

from what I know they have access to 2 different systems, once just shows standard info & other backend realtime. Since I know now, if CIC rep is lazy, I asked him to verify in other system, they usually put you on hold for about 5 mins. I was able to get information that was updated 2 hrs ago. Some rep are nice to lookup without you asking them, other stubborn won't even do that after asking.

I agree with you apple_talk! I have experienced the same with agents.

In my opinion, this is not correct. You can submit the PCC even after 6 months as long as date of issue of the PCC is less than 3 months from the date of your application (for PR).

But yes, if you know that your file was transferred (local or pilot), its best to mail them the pcc.

hmm, everyday we learn something new. I was under the impression that the call center agents do not have access to our files/info.

Mssissauga immigration office received my application for sponsoring my parents in May of 2011. I know I have to wait for a long time. But could anyone of you guess how do I have to wait.

Thanks in advance!

I called CIC just now, they gave me the response is that my parent's case was trasfered to Beijing. but the CIC send me the sponsorship letter which shows the ottawa polit process center address.

In my opinion they have access to our info because the agent asked me very specific questions to confirm I'm the right person.

Hi Everyone

Does anyone know how much should I be paying for PR fees, I am only sponsoring my mother (No dependant), I already paid the $550 sponsoring fees when applying 3 years ago, but how much should I sent CIC for PR fees for one person.

Thanks
