Hello Everyone,

I am currently in the process of finalizing the paper works for my parent sponsorship.
Re: Statutory Declaration of Common-Law Union [IMM 5409], is my understanding correct that you only complete and file this form if your co-signee is not legally married to you? I am legally married to my wife at this time, so does this mean I need not complete this form?

Thanks for all the assistance.

Rich

Hi! You don't need to fill it up anymore cause you are married already.

Hello Everyone,

I am filling out the application for my parents under 2016 PGP.

They don`t have a marriage certificate in English. The one they have is an old Islamic document (Nikah Nama) in Persian from 1976. Since I don`t have time to get it translated now, do you think it will pose a problem or the application will get rejected because of this?

I am planning to attach a letter saying they don`t have a marriage certificate but both there passports have each other`s name as spouse along with my passport which lists them as parents. Do you think that`s enough?

Any suggestions or help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

hi TP,
yes, I received ppr through email.

Hi Everyone,

I really appreciate if you would let me know how to send the packages as CIC states that I can not send my form and supporting documents in BULK. If I have to send the packages separately, then how many packages do I need to send and which one will be sent along in each package? I really appreciate your advice. Thanks

One complete application and supporting documents is not BULK. You must include all requested forms and supporting documents in the package you submit to cic. Failure to do so will result in your application being returned on the grounds that it is incomplete and you will miss the cap.

Does anyone know how one can transfer large amount of money from pakistan to canada, selling property in pakistan and transferring money to canada? I know the limit is 10,000 CAD each otherwise need to declare it to border security. do you have to pay taxes or duties for first time immigrants and also if there is a certain time frame when you are coming to canada that they don't charge you tax on money bringing into the country? please advise

Thanks for your advice, however it states "The applications for both sponsorship and permanent residence should be filled out and sent at the same time" .. could you please let me know why cic states so ...

It's best to contact CBSA and ask them directly.
Just call them or email them with your questions. They will reply and let you know.

Email: Contact@cbsa.gc.ca

There are limits to carrying cash outside Pakistan (it's only for exiting Pakistan as Govt trying to stop money leaving country) so it also creates hurdle. People can use traveler cheques, or demand drafts, etc. Check skilled worker Pakistan threads on how people try to carry money from Pak.
I think limits are USD 5k per adult or something as per FIA/Customs of Pakistan, otherwise Canada does not impose limits but amounts over 10k needs declarations. It's difficult as people lose between conversions, etc.
you can also try moneygram or westernunion transfers too which may be expensive but can work.

Or transfer via bank-to-bank electronically.

Thanks!

I hope someone can help me out as I wonder how I should send my application. I have only 1 complete package, how ever cic states that "The applications for both sponsorship and permanent residence should be filled out and sent at the same time" Does it mean I need 2 same complete packages and send them at the same time? I really appreciate your advice.

filling out IMM 5768

how do you answer the column "Gross income/ benefits for period" in question # 15 for this form: Financial Evaluation for Parents and Grandparents sponsorship?

According to the guide, I need to provide proof of income from CRA? Meaning I need to ask this document from CRA?

Thanks for the help!
