Having bypass should not matter, provided condition of your parent in fine. On the day of medical examination, you can disclose the by-pass details to your DMP and request to do extra tests related to heart. By doing extra heart tests upfront, you may save some time by not getting additional medical request. CIC is basically concerned that your parent will not require a heart surgery in atleast 5 years.

Hello Jaggudada, Sorry to hear that. In our soponsorship case principal applicant is 59 years of age and had Bypass heart surgery 4 years befor Now he is well and medical reports are good. What do you say of rejection chances in our case? Can you please share possible reasons for rejection of your principal applicant medical examination and the worst thing could happen to the other members of family sponsorship application.
Any member in forum can share their experiences.

your feedback.

I think in your case it should be ok. Problem arises when there is medical problem existing at the time of medical.

I hope in our case, my father in law is asked to do medical again. He was diagnosed with kidney problems at the time of medical in Dec 2012 and since medical he has undergone medical treatment to get a kidney replacement. So the underlining problem is now fixed but we have not heard anything from Immigration people.

Raj, do you know what happens if they find a problem during medical which disallows your immigration? Will they send a letter saying do the medicals again? Or would it be a letter saying "Thank you very much but no thank you. You can't come to Canada".

I am a little confused as to how to proceed from here knowing that the medical issue (which is the cause for rejection) is now fixed.

I think that depend on the intensity of problem. From what I have heard in most cases they ask for additional detailed tests and then they ask to go for medical treatment/surgery. Only one case came up on this forum a while ago who was rejected due to medicals.

My aunt had a medical issue for which they asked for additional detailed tests and some treatment too and they were ask to re test...not sure of how serious the issue is in your case, but they do have a procedure for people who do not pass the test.

"The report from the Fraser Institute, which was released today, argues that immigration of parents and grandparents be stopped completely."

"...While Grubel argues that immigration of parents and grandparents be stopped completely, he says the changes should be phased in by making it applicable only to new immigrants arriving after the adoption of the proposed policy, allowing immigrants already in Canada to continue with the sponsorship of their parents and grandparents...."

Just curious what else they can come out with?

Actually, it's a good idea coz this way new immigrants are already aware of the system in Canada and won't bother coming here ( if they can't leave parents ) - when I came here 13 years ago, I didn't know that I will be made to feel criminal by sponsoring them coz I am stealing from other Canadians, they will be seen negatively and pushed at the end of the line even though they are not getting younger ( and when approved, would require more health care at an older age - a span of 5 year wait time is huge when it comes to older humans so they want to incur more cost to health care OR simply wish they would have died, changed their mind or failed medicals )
So I am told you miss them, then go back home and what happens to my life of 13 years here? how will I resettle? with family? with kids? Oh no! wait, I will continue to live here and taxes will pay for those who suck the govt dry due to their drug habits, lie to get welfare and waste govt money by finding loopholes.
I didn't know that this country would see parents ( who brought you in this world ) are seen as such a burden, they did sacrifices all their lives so you could be where you are and when it comes time to repay, I tell them sorry - you can't spend the rest of your years with me coz tomorrow your surgery will be very hard for Canadians to pay, regardless of me being a part of it and paying for others

Very well said....I don't understand how all of sudden now these parents have become burden on them....they are not recognizing the hard work and effort that these immigrants have made to build the economy of this country...have they ever seen a immigrant on street like actual Canadians do....

I see this country move away from it's traditional immigration system

It will welcome
1) Spouse
2) Refugees
3) International Students ( Pay high fees then on your own - traditionally thats how it is )
3) Prefer Temp Foreign Workers ( Keep Rotating Them ) - High app Fees+Work here and pay taxes, then get out
4) Supervisa for Parents
5) H&C for the most extreme cases

Eventually other countries will open doors, it's always the case - New Zealand will get higher demand. People will continue to migrate in high #'s

I second that. all this false hope is just causing a lot of stress for families.
