Hi everyone, I've been following this thread for a long time as guest.. finally signed up today to participate. Anyway, just wanna say I find everyone here very helpful & friendly. Hope we all can bring our parents/grandparents here shortly.

I need some advice here... I'm not sure if I should request CPP-O as LVO or HongKong office to process my parents' application. Based on the CIC website, the processing time in HongKong seems fast.. but I also heard people saying it was less complicated & faster if the case was transferred to CPP-O. I don't know what to do now... Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Why would they send it to ottawa, I am putting New Delhi in visa office. My parents have multiple entry visitor visa of canada until end of 2015. They have been to canada twice for couple months.

What would you recommend about PCC, how long it takes to get it done from consulate in india. Is it better to do upfront if money is not the problem in doing again( incase they ask again later)

thanks
Pilot Project, they sent majority of parents file there and they were all done in 8-9 months compared to ND ( in ND since March 2012 )
A pretty unfair system, but we picked this country

You can't pick a a visa office unless the parents have been authorized to live there with min 1 year ( so your answer is HK )

Sorry I forgot to mention my parents have been authorized to live Canada for more than a year, so I'm pretty sure we can choose between CPP-O and HK. In this case, which LVO might be better for us?

Oh I see, Hopefully yours should be done soon. Goodluck

Also I am filling IMM0008 generic form, and there is option of National identification document. Is Adhaar card should be used there( but thats unique identification number not National identification document ).

I checked on wikipedia, some countries don't have national identification document including India and Canada.

Really confused. should I say yes or No for that.

Hi
I have a question regarding my parents sponsorship. When you submit all the documents and your passports to indian embassy, how long it gonna take to get ur visa? My parents sent everything in june 2013. Should I have to wait for more couple of months or they will get it soon. If anyone have any idea please let me know.

Thanks. :(

Do we actually need to submit the parent's birth certificate and Police Certificate now even if they are not requested at this time?

They said in the letter that Once obtained police certificate can be either sent with complete application or when requested by visa office.

They want birth certificates now with application. but it is not clear whose birth certificate? Parents? or ours(children)?

One more thing, they said you should provide email for communication with CIC. Is it mandatory?

They ask to submit "The proof of relationship showing you are the parent or grandparent of your sponsor in Canada. The document you submit must prove the relationship between the relationship between the principal applicant and the sponsor."

I understand that it should be the birth certificate of the sponsor - i.e. me who is sponsoring, in my case my own birth certificate as it is showing that the person I am sponsoring is my Mother. My Mother's birth certificate can show only the names of her parents - I will not be mentioned in there at all. But I know that they sometimes ask the parent birth certificate as well...by some reason it is not mentioned in this documents request.

In answer to your question - no it is not mandatory to provide email for communication with CIC. Email is just more convenient way for them to correspond with you - it is mush faster than snail-mail. Though they will do keep communication with you by regular mail if you will not provide your email by just entering NA.
