If your parent visited Canada, they might ask you to come to ND for fingerprints ( not all, few and rare ) or if you need FBI PCCraju canadian said:helllo AADI I WANT TO ASK SOMETHING?????/

12 Weeks is the standard period of time they will tell to everyone. Usually it is faster. Contact the Embassy and explain your urgency, they may process it faster. I am not sure but I think for obtaining PCC in India, passport is required to be submitted/presented along with the application for PCC. CIC also does background checks depending on individual cases.rk3 said:Hi,
Although my parents live in Dubai, they got a letter from Visa Office-New Delhi for submission of Document (Medical, PCC etc).
Meanwhile, can some help in how to PCC. hey have lived in Canada, UAE and India. We have obtained local PCC from RCMP in Caada, Dubai Police in UAE, but have requested Indian Embassy in UAe for PCC or INdia, and they say it may take upto 12 weeks. Their deadline to submit documents is approaching much sooner than that.
Can they ask someone locally in India to get PCC from the local police station from the place they stayed the last?
Does CIC also does background check on thier part? I have heard that they do criminality checks as well, so if they are doing it is it not enough? Do they obtain thier own PCC as well?
Thanks
Not true, they don't do that for everyone. Folks have lived in Canada for 6 months on 2 occasions but only did RCMP trace and same case with others. Its random on these fingerprintsaadi said:@ raju
if you visit canada before ur PR & stayed more than six months in one visit, CIC always ask for finger prints. my dad visited us 5 times & stayed more than 6 months & top of that he visited states & Europe so I guess they are doing background from every country he visited.
Although they say 12 weeks, at time they do it faster - We got 2 done from Canada and it was done in 4-5 days. Its just 1 PCC for all of India - if you can't get it on time , you can send the rest with letter saying Indian embassy is still processing PCC - they extend the dates in there, its not a big dealrk3 said:When you say "CIC does background check", does that mean that they do it from local police level OR do you mean that they do the CSIS (Canadian Security, Interpol etc).
CSIS/Interpol is much easier to check as they have organized database.
The issue in India is that they have lived in 12 different place in their entire live while in India. Getting local police clearance from all these 12 different Police stations/different states almost impossible for us as individuals OR for CHC as well.
Thanks

It seems that @ 25000-30000 visas per year it will take about 4 years (April 2017) to clear all the pending applications under Parents and Grandparents Category. Also note that 58,491 were still awaiting First stage approval as of April 02, 2013.
Out of the total 32,661 application at overseas offices, New Delhi has 9,053 applications, which is about 27.72% of all applications at all overseas offices. Assuming that this is also true for applications awaiting First Stage Approval (58,491), New Delhi might get another 16,214 applications in future. That will make the total of pending applications in New Delhi 25,267 (9,053 + 16,214). Based on the processing numbers from 2012 (5,982), New Delhi will take approximately 51 months (July 2017) to finalize all pending applications. So far in 2013 (Jan-Mar), New Delhi has issued 1,571 COPR's (524 per month). New Delhi will probably issue another 4,500 COPR's in 2013.

Does anyone know If they ask for sponsor's proof of income before issuing parents visas?
