yes you can send your passport with your sister to india but you should give her notarized authority letter to take your passport with her to india.

Although its good to get a notarized letter but its not really needed, actually the fact is you can take passports across borders even with regular letter but it's a grey area - as PP on the back says you cannot mail, but can give it to someone in authority ( that is only within India ) - I confirmed this with Indian Consulate in Vancouver

Just put it in Suitcase, with all relevant papers, letter in the event customs opens the bag - after all it's India, few bucks takes care of things

thanks a lot... one of my lawyer is also saying to submit the passport in canada to the embassy...they will forward to new delhi...so if i send my passport with my sister then she has to come back to canada and i have to go to india and come back to canada for port of entry with my parents......

BTW, what embassy does he mean? Canada doesn't have it's own embassy in Canada itself, and if he means by Indian embassy ( Ottawa ), he means to say that Indian Embassy will forward that to Canadian Embassy in Delhi - sorry it doesnt work that way

No, the sequence is to send the PP to India via sister and then someone has to bring it back and you can flagpole - go to US border and re-enter BUT ( good question to ask Khaira ) that the whole family has to land together or he can do separate or will he go to India and come back with them after someone brings his passport here

..only possible if your file was in CPP-O, since it's Delhi, has to be stamped there
