I guess you should let them know the reason for the delay in submitting PCC
How do I inform them of the delay? In my email to them in which I sent the PCC, I did mention the reason of the delay. They don't really acknowledge the emails.

I was wondering why your PCC was sent by mail, while mine was in the email.
I have no idea. We had our email addresses in the application and never indicated that we preferred communication via mail. IRCC's decision to send it by mail cost us ~2 months.

Thank you for the detailed clarification. Please confirm - ADR, AOR (including PCC), was sent to the parents’ registered email and not the sponsor’s email.
Also, if someone were not/ unable to link application to IRCC secure portal - wonder what the method was for Biometric/ Medical requests.
Finally, the initial residence online portal where we submitted the original application - still shows status as submitted from Aug/24 for me, as there has been no movement on my parents’ file. Wonder what it shows in other cases where progress has been made.

Thanks again!
We only use one email for all the communications as I'm also the representative for my parents.

Not sure how else IRCC would notify the applicants if they don't have access to GCkey. I heard some people saying they received the physical letter in their mailbox so maybe that's their alternative.

I don't think the initial residence online portal ever gets updated after the initial submission but I could be wrong.

Thanks for the details. We have 2 emails - one for principal applicant (parent) and one for myself as sponsor and representative. No AOR / ADR request received on either email. Unable to link to GC key - assuming application review is ongoing/ not complete. Applied on Aug 2. Let’s see - will continue to wait. Wonder if anyone else has not heard back at all…

Maybe give IRCC a call or submit a webform query to get an update.

Thanks - gave them a call yesterday. They said nothing actionable as a sponsor but did not provide any updates for principal applicant. They noted that the representative form was submitted and made a note for agent to process it - so they could release information to me next time. Have also submitted separate webforms - from myself as representative and from my parents as principal applicant. Let's see.

Wonder if anyone else is also waiting for any communication post original submission. No ADR/ AOR/ requests for medical/ police check/ biometric.

There will be very long periods of time when you hear nothing from IRCC. Prearrival doesn’t actually mean you are close to COPR which confuses most people. Processing times for PGP can be years.

Same here. Got invitation in May, submitted on July 24. No response at all.

same here you guys! Some senior member pointed out that immigrant parents are burden on the Canadian economy and therefore PGP applications go upto 3+ years. The senior members also pointed out that they would actually be surprised if anybody got PGP PR end to end in a year. Anyways, let us keep each other posted. Wishing good luck to us all !

Current processing times as per IRCC are 24 months and there is a reduced quota so that will slow down processing. PGP is rarely a benefit economically to Canada and comes with a significant cost because most will never pay taxes or work in Canada but will receive services and get payments from the government. That is just a fact and why there is a set yearly quota. As always specified it would be very surprising if any PGP2024 gets PR in 2025 given backlogs and current yearly quotas. This is all based on various IRCC information including what is posted below. Many will not hear anything from IRCC for the rest of the year because they will be in a processing queue. They should not be surprised and be prepared for this.

A very simple way around it is to get a visitor or super visa.
