Hello, I have a few questions about Parents GrandParents application. I received ITA in 2024 and have completed PCC last month.

I recently received Biometric request via email but I thought we would not need to give biometrics as my parents gave it in 2022 for visitor visa (which was rejected). Can someone confirm if biometrics are mandatory even if they have been provided in the past for a different application?

My second question is regarding Medical request, which we haven't received yet. Is Medical request generally received after or before Biometric request. And approx how many days between Biometric and Medical request.
My parents live in a small town where there is no Canada Biometric or Medical centre and they will have to travel to a different city for these. Wondering if I should wait a few days hoping I will get medical request too and that way we can get it all done in one trip.

My third question is regarding GC account, I tried searching for the application using File Number (don't have UCI), but it said application could not be found. Did someone face the same and how did they resolve it? or is there another portal where we can check status? The original portal where we applied does not work anymore.

Did you apply towards the end like near the deadline of Aug 2? even though it seems application updates are random i believe there might (or might not be) some order they pick up the apps. in any case though just hold on and wait, we are still lucky that we got picked this year so just have to wait a bit now.

There does seem to be a processing order although not strict. Those who applied earlier to seem to be getting AOR faster. If you applied near the end of submission time period you are likely just in a queue waiting for processing. In everything related to immigration as long as you are not outlier there is likely nothing wrong this is just normal processing. The whole immigration program involves long periods of waiting for a few updates. This is actually the fast period of the process and things will now slow down and most will not hear from IRCC for quite some time.

Applied on Aug 2. ADR received Mar 26 (current financial sponsor form), actual signed additional family form (had excluded children in Canada per earlier instructions), along with some proof of relationship (some were already submitted). To note - called / web forms recently. I feel they were pretty much about to send ADR - following up made them look at the file and since there was nothing else pending, they sent the ADR. Hopefully, others are round the corner.

Permanent Resident Biometric is different with the temporary resident. They should do it again.

Some received them at the same time. Parents Medical request was received after a month of completing Biometrics, so we can’t really predict. They should do it regardless.

I tried linking the account a lot of times but success after few days. Try different combinations, Mine worked when I used Last Name and date of birth. You should include yourself and co-sponsor in the number of persons.

Prearrival is not sent at a particular time but sometime after ellgibility. It is just procedural and everyone will receive it at a certain point. The letter mainly just confuses people since it does not mean processing is almost finished and also doesn’t impact processing time and will not hold up processing if you have not received it yet.

Is it possible to give the medical test upfront before receving the medical request?

Technically yes but unless you have a very specific reason would not recommend it. It is only valid for a year and with the long processing times they will already likely have to repeat it at least one more time. Unless you are in a rush to figure out if they will be medically inadmissible no point in doing the medical in advance it will have minimal impact if any and may cost more if you have to repeat the medical even more times.

You would have already received it. For some reason some people don’t seem to receive the formal notice although would check in all your folders, your parents’s folders orwith the representative if you used one.
