The new leadership want to woo back voters to the caucus.

Highly doubt this has an impact on the Liberal caucus. My assumption is that it is meant to give cover to LPC candidates in the next election and to appease voters who have PGP as one of their major considerations when voting.

Unless those with any updates on their files are not sharing them here, it appears that there has been no updates on any files for a while, no?

Could someone please advise how to update my parents address on the file? Last update was in October when IRCC confirmed they had received the police certificate and reviewing it. I am thinking of having them visit me here in Canada on their visitor visa. In the meantime, I will have to update their address with IRCC so when the passport request finally comes in, it comes in for Canada and not Pakistan. Please advise. thank you.

Use the "webform" to notify IRCC regarding the change of address.

There is a very small number of applicants on the forum so not really a representative sample.

Nov 3, 2023 applicant here, everything is completed as per GCMS except security check for my father in process while my mother's security check is completed. I noticed in GCMS notes security checks initiated on Nov 14, 2024 and type is A34 comprehensive security checks. Which means we are doomed and comprehensive checks may take anywhere between 15 ot 18 months :( currently the status showing received by CBSA. I am surprise to see that as my father never had any public / govt sector job or military background. only visited Canada twice in last 15 years. I wish it had not gone to comprehensive checks :(

country of citizen: Pakistan, eligibility passed back in Mar 2024, medical passed on Oct 30, 2024

Was he involved in politics, religion, organized groups, etc.? Police? Live in a region that is known for heightened terrorist or separatist activity. You can end up with comprehensive screening for a variety of reasons.

No nothing of that at all. He lives in Karachi, Pakistan never been a part of any org or any activity. Perhaps having very common name could be the reason. I also connected with few other people whose parents are from Pakistan also subject to comprehensive security checks with no involvement of any sort of activities groups or law enforcements.

that sucks man. sorry to hear that. hopefully it will completed soon. how long did it take to order the notes? I am thinking of ordering them for my parents. Applied for the application in Nov 2023, medical done July 2024, Police clearance done in Oct 2024 and nothing since.

Sorry that is frustrating. Agree that is could be as simple as having the same name and some other similarities like home location, birth year, etc.

May I please ask for the link that you're referring to? Change or update your contact information is this the form you're referring to? I ask this because it says if you're outside US & Canada, contact the immigration officer in your region. How would I know what region is dealing with Pakistani files? Change my address – Immigration and citizenship - Canada.ca please advise. thank you.
I used the first link. I also noticed that the 1st and 2nd link you have referenced both lead to the same page, so I'd just go with that. After you submit the info, you'll get a "do not reply" email acknowledging the change. Hope that helps!
