Congratulations on your invitation to apply. You really do not need a co-signer if your last 3 years income threshold is sufficient. Therefore, go ahead and complete the application as a single sponsor of your parents. Good luck!Question about co-signer
Hi All
I got the invite yesterday for the 2024 PGP category and I have a question about the co-signer.
when I filled the interest to sponsor form in 2020, i added my wife as a co-signer. but she not working any more now from the last one year.
My income alone is sufficient enough to meet the income requirements for 2023, 2022, 2021. So when i submit the application is it ok, if i can just be a single sponsor without my wife since in any case her income last year was nil so it wont make any difference. Please suggest,
regards

Bump!Hi Everyone,
I submitted an application for parents on December 22nd 2023. I have the payment receipt, but other than that - its been radio silence.
This is the portal I used to log in:
https://portal-portail.apps.cic.gc.ca/signin?lang=en
But it is just a spinning wheel with no page being loaded.
I have no email from them confirming submission, or anything else. Did you all receive any auto confirmation when you submitted the documents? Should I be worried or doing anything differently other than just waiting?
I think it should be fine and it's even better as less information to fill and probably less time for the Immigration Officer to evaluate the sponsor eligibility because it's just only you.Question about co-signer

you should have used this portal for application. Sign in | Permanent Residence Portal (cic.gc.ca) if you have submitted all the documents and paid the fees. you should have received email about application within 24 hours.Bump!
I'm getting worried I did something wrong or that the application was not submitted successfully.
Thank you very much for that link.you should have used this portal for application. Sign in | Permanent Residence Portal (cic.gc.ca) if you have submitted all the documents and paid the fees. you should have received email about application within 24 hours.
try to link your application to GCKEY account. you might have to create account if not already created. Also you can use webform to submit your inquiry. you will receive their communication.Thank you very much for that link.
I do see the application now! However, I see date submitted as December 23rd, instead of December 22 when I submitted it. No email was received. Should I give them a call or just wait?
How do you link the application with GCkey? Could we link the application on GCKEY with the application status show submitted?try to link your application to GCKEY account. you might have to create account if not already created. A webform was sent asking if we can link in GCkey, They replied that when application is opened(or in procesing) only then it can be linked.
You can have no co-signer in the application.@YVR123 @scylla i read this question by someone below that they added co signer at the time of the interest submission on oct 2020.... i do not see any co signer option for us when we submitted the interest in oct 2020 and when submitted the application we do add co signer now to meet the income...does it matter? this was the question by some below---

sorry seems like i did not put it properly as it gets confusing.... some one said they submit the interest in oct 2020 they submit the co signer info along with it....i do not see any info regarding that...you wanna throw some light on it, do we had to submit co signer info at the time of submitting interest in OCT 2020 ...coz i dont think there was any option for that at that time or we can add co signer at the time of the submitting the actual application after the invite coz thats what i did as i add co signer after the invite when submit actual pgp app on portal. You can have no co-signer in the application.
My thought is that having a co-signer is a good fallback even though she is not working now.
PGP could take 1 year or 2 to process and who knows what can happening the future. Having your wife as the co-signer gives you the option in case something happens.
unless she doesn't agree to be one.
again, it's up to your family decision.
Oh. I thought you were asking that Question. You can add co-signer when you submit the actual application. (doesn't matter if that's mentioned/possible to mention in the interest to sponsor form)sorry seems like i did not put it properly as it gets confusing.... some one said they submit the interest in oct 2020 they submit the co signer info along with it....i do not see any info regarding that...you wanna throw some light on it, do we had to submit co signer info at the time of submitting interest in OCT 2020 ...coz i dont think there was any option for that at that time or we can add co signer at the time of the submitting the actual application after the invite coz thats what i did as i add co signer after the invite when submit actual pgp app on portal.
