Hello everyone,

I wanted to share an update on my parents' application progress for those who have been waiting for a long time without any updates. I hope this will be helpful to anyone who is still waiting to hear back.

Application Submitted: 24-Dec-2022
Linked Application in IRCC My Account: 5-Jun-2023 Used last name and passport number since we hadn’t heard back since we submitted the application.
AOR: 5-Jul-2023 (Mississauga Office); this came in the mail. It was probably prompted by my phone call to IRCC to let them know I never received an AOR.
Biometric Instruction Letter: 19-Jan-2024
Sponsor Approval: 24-Jan-2024 (forwarded to Vancouver Office)

Hopefully, the application won't get stuck in a loop at the Vancouver office, and things will start moving faster from here on.

Received email today from Montreal office, Even though file is at Vancouver office, to send some information to get PR Portal process started like name, height, if currently in Canada or not etc.

now My Parents got Permanent residency confirmation portal email but they are not here. They are planning to come back in November. Now in this situation what should I do?
If I said they are coming back in May 2025, will they get the passport request for one time visa stamp from Inida? or What happen in this case if IRCC didn't send pasport request ?

This is my Time line :
Application Submitted: 20th December 2020
Sponsorship Eligibility: 24th May 2023
Invitation to Pre arrival letter : June 29, 2024
Medical Request: June 29, 2024
Medical Pass: July 2024
PCC request: 19th September 2024
PCC review: 2nd October 2024
Final Decision: Saying "October 9, 2024 Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made "
Confirmation of Permanent Residency Portal Email: 22nd October 2024

If there's no passport request, in November, show the email to the CBSA at the port of entry and see what happens.

I received an email on 08th Oct requesting to send some information to get PR Portal process started like name, height, currently living in Canada or not. I sent all the details they requested and I have not heard anything since then.

Today I received a cheque in the post(mail) from IRCC as a refund of $85 under my mother's name.

I'm wondering if anyone else has a same kind of experience or have any ideas about this?

Looks like it is biometric refund. When did you pay for biometric? At the time of application or later ?

I never paid for a biometric at the time of application, cos my mother had done the biometrics in 2018 when she got the visitor visa.

Right now she is in Canada and they sent the email 7th Oct asking for details for the PR portal. That was the last contact from them. Then this cheque came in the mail on 22nd Oct.

Again, reached out to my MP office yesterday, today morning they called the IRCC and in the afternoon, i got the second PR Portal mail. May be i have to push it one more time for the eCOPR. Do they really work this way :-(.

You are lucky. When I contacted my local MP office they just came back saying "your application is in regular processing time." Its been 22 months since I submitted
