“Don’t wish for other people’s misfortune. Wish for your and their self being. People who wish bad for others end up being the ones suffering from bad luck.”

I have recently seen alot of negative comments on this thread for people who have received invitation without fulfilling requirement. I know you really want that invitation and it is frustrating to wait further. But complaining CIC regarding it and signing petitions for it. This is getting out of control. You can sign a petition for more invitations but requesting CIC to not accept amendments to NOA is pathetic. I have not received invitation for my parents in last draw and even in this one. They are getting older and I want them here with me too. But I would never take your route. I will be happy if someone else can reunite with their loved ones.

when you wish good for others, good things come back to you. This is the law of nature.

I'm guessing it's the same as a common law partner requirement when applying for a PR before?

Proof of shared ownership of a property, bank accounts, etc. Plus Letter of Explanation
Thanks.

Hi All,
have a question. if parents dont have marriage certificate... what can be used as substitute?
Some countries allow extraction of marriage registration in the past. That may be one option. Not sure where your parents got married. So not sure if that's possible.

If people are NOT eligible, they should NOT apply and ruin the chances of others. CIC should know what is happening, there should be repercussions for applying when you are NOT eligible. To start with family reunification should NOT be a luck factor. Maybe it’s good to set aside emotions and think practically.

any invites today?

Has anybody got an invitation since Friday? I heard the last set of invitations went out Thursday and there is a delay - is this true? Does it mean that they will extend since tomorrow is the last day? I really hope - waiting a long time and really disappointed. from the previous threads someone said the initial pool was of 204,000 applicants of which they took 10K in March and now 30K that should work out to be about 1 chance in 4-5 applicants. I have been trying even before lottery system when it was 1st come 1st served - the internet broke and my application did not even get through now when it is 1 in 4 -5 applicants - I have still not had an invitation. I am sure there are others feeling the same thing but it really is out of our hands. It is very sad to have to try so long, making sure you have all met all the requirements, prayed and hoped, wished everyone the best (Good Omen) and yet no luck. Who do you go to to change your luck???

So I guess the same bad karma applies to those who submit an entry into the lottery and are selected but don't qualify. Seems fair.

People received invitations on Friday.

None today and none yesterday to the best of my knowledge.

We don't know if IRCC finished early or if they have more invitations yet to send. No guarantee anything will be extended. It's possible it could be. Or they may have finished early.

I think people should be aware that if IRCC says they will invite 30K people, they will actually invite around 35K because they know a certain percentage won't follow through with applying or will be not eligible.
Last time they invited about 13K instead of 10K for this reason. Therefore it doesn't make sense to hate on people who may have misunderstood the rules or who assumed they were eligible when they weren't. If 100% of people who applied were eligible and made no errors then they wouldnt have a buffer of 30% extra invites - therefore it would not make a difference.

I am finding it really hard to believe they were able to pick 30,000 and email them all in 6 working days (they started late on 23rd) - something does not add up. It took them full 10 working days to pick and send 10,000 in March

Depending on the level of automation, they should technically be able to do everything within one day. Having said that, IRCC's level of automation usually leaves a lot to be desired.

I don't think we should assume the back end of this process (i.e. level of automation) is the same this year as last year. Presumably and hopefully they have made advancements that might allow them to move faster. But maybe they haven't. It's really impossible for any of us to say and we'll have to wait for either more people to receive invites this week or for an official statement from IRCC.

Apparently they had some sort outage in their online systems (as per their Twitter account) but not sure if that brought the invitation process down. Anyone here following the Facebook group? have you seen any invitations for today and yesterday posted there?

Yes, I guess you are right - there is still a thread of hope

I agree with you- I do not I have any feeling for the people who are willing to cheat (whatever is their objective, main is to be with their loved ones), typical examples of this cheat is lying, tax fraud, even marriage of convenience e.t.c. But I do feel for their parents who are eager to be with their children and grandchildren. Also, I agree that not allowing to amend tax returns or permanent resident to sponsor is bit selfish, extreme, and short sighted, I guess. Some people really make mistake, that is why amendment of tax return is there in place. Also, I know quite a few who are here in Canada as a PR for more than decades, not applied for citizenship, as that create a lot of administrative issues to their family and relatives or owning property, e.t.c., in the home country.
