I agree with you- I do not I have any feeling for the people who are willing to cheat (whatever is their objective, main is to be with their loved ones), typical examples of this cheat is lying, tax fraud, even marriage of convenience e.t.c. But I do feel for their parents who are eager to be with their children and grandchildren. Also, I agree that not allowing to amend tax returns or permanent resident to sponsor is bit selfish, extreme, and short sighted, I guess. Some people really make mistake, that is why amendment of tax return is there in place. Also, I know quite a few who are here in Canada as a PR for more than decades, not applied for citizenship, as that create a lot of administrative issues to their family and relatives or owning property, e.t.c., in the home country.
Tax fraud or using any fraudulent docs is a straight Deportation, after completing the Jail time in Canada.

Jesus this is so frustrating. 5th attempt and looking rather bleak.

The system needs to be amended.
  1. Prioritize people who have been here longer and have been paying taxes the entire time.
  2. Prioritize high income earners. People who pay into the system more should be ahead of the queue.
  3. Prioritize those who have already had multiple attempts.
Makes no sense if a recent PR get its on the first attempt - meanwhile a citizen whose been here for years on end has to keep failing year after year.

Agreed on 1 & 3, no chance for the second point though.

Last night - in my Dream
“Don’t wish for other people’s misfortune. Wish for your and their self being. People who wish bad for others end up being the ones suffering from bad luck.”

I have recently seen alot of negative comments on this thread for people who have received invitation without fulfilling requirement. I know you really want that invitation and it is frustrating to wait further. But complaining CIC regarding it and signing petitions for it. This is getting out of control. You can sign a petition for more invitations but requesting CIC to not accept amendments to NOA is pathetic. I have not received invitation for my parents in last draw and even in this one. They are getting older and I want them here with me too. But I would never take your route. I will be happy if someone else can reunite with their loved ones.

when you wish good for others, good things come back to you. This is the law of nature.
Well my friend , looks like you read the post in a bit of a rush. Let me explain it to you in detail

Rules made by a Govt agency for everyone trying to participate and benefit from a program are to be rigid and fool proof. If it were to be flexible in every which way , you would never need to bother making those rules at all.

If every Tom ,Dick and Harry were granted a deviation and excuse, rules would be no more than a mere joke.

Inline reply to your statements/comments

I know you really want that invitation and it is frustrating to wait further - Yes Absolutely and so are so many other people( some have waited for over 5 years)

But complaining CIC regarding it and signing petitions for it. - Is that a CRIME ?When ppl can try scheme the system am I not allowed to complain ? Then why do we even need a open society and open debates in public forums ?

This is getting out of control. - Really ? I thought ppl trying to get creative and misuse legal avenues were the ones out of control

You can sign a petition for more invitations but requesting CIC to not accept amendments to NOA is pathetic. - NOPE, That is not what I said Here is the true version

I understand everyone has the right to amend their tax returns for genuine reasons and that is normal and acceptable
Does CIC scrutinize Reassessment NOA to see if amendments were made specifically to inflate income to meet minimum income requirements and there by gain an unfair advantage in the process of PGP sponsorship ?

I personally have amendments made to one of the NOA. but that was to add details for my spouse. I just want to know if CIC does a scrutiny to make sure the playing field is level and all rules apply just the same to everyone.

And please understand one thing , Getting philosophical is not going to solve a real problem.

Trust me I have been an Engineer for over twenty years. Logic, reasoning, analysis ,fact finding and fixing problems at the root cause have helped me solved more problems than Philosophy

I agree with this.

IMO IRCC would never implement #2.
Yah they probably would not. But they definitely can increase the minimum threshold. A person who makes $40000 can barely support themselves in Canada much less support parents.

Also I hate to say this - but if you are making $40000 - you are more likely to be a burden on the system then otherwise nevermind the fact you'll be adding parents in the equation who will consume benefits they never paid into.

Yes, they could increase LICO. That's feasible and I guess that could be a way to give preference to those who make a higher income.
