I just wanted to share with you my experience for those who are thinking to do the same... My parents landed here feb 17th on their tourist visa. We're hoping that changing their address and being here in Canada physically present will at least help in moving forward with their pr application. Their medicals is due to expire on Mar 6 and we haven't heard back from IRCC.

At the day of their arrival, at the airport, only passengers, security and healthcare workers conducting the swab test are allowed inside the airport. All family, friends or any one picking up passengers has to be outside the airport. We're standing OUTSIDE the sliding doors in freezing weather. Some are literally looking like curbside pickup.

Their plane landed 6:49pm. It took approx 3 hrs to finish all the process inside the airport. They were interviewed constantly as well. After 3 days, we've been receiving calls left and right from the government checking if we're following the quarantine protocols. Just this morning someone knocked on the door and interviewed my dad verifying same info as the one on the phone.

With this new hotel requirement whether or not your parents will be affected, the process in place is already stressful as it is. We just hope that this new restriction will not apply for them as it will be so hard not to see them for the next 3 days from their arrival.

Airport: toronto pearson

Up to today I think only Ontario used to run covid tests of arriving passengers but now all four airports have to do from tomorrow.

I am new here and would greatly appreciate your advice on this so I can finalize the application package to sponsor my dad:

He currently lives in China and took the required (2) photos earlier this month that are now being couriered to me. The photography studio stamp their name and wrote the address and date at the back of the photo but they were in Chinese (except for the date). Do I need to get a certified translation here once I receive these photos OR that I can translate the name and addresses myself? I am not sure if the photos would be considered "documents not in English/French" that needs to follow the translation requirement. Would greatly appreciate your advice! Best Regards.

**I can't seem to locate the 2020 thread so posting here**

This is a very sad question to ask but what happens if the primary applicant passes away? In my case it is my father. Does the file continue with my mother and my sister who is a dependant?

@robertp
Sorry to hear about your loss .May god give you strength. You have to update IRCC with your mother being the main applicant. They did took forever in my case to make that change. It is still in application received.

How CPC-M to get your file into processing? Are they even processing application. Why are they not reviewing the file at all. Not that it is connected but my citizenship application is also stuck at in process for over 16 months. People who applied in Dec 2019 got test invite and I am stuck.

sorry for your loss. Yes, the application will continue to be processed. You need to submit death certificate and ask that the principal applicant be changed to your mother

The quarantine protocol and verification will still be the same.

Speaking of quarantine protocols, we've been receiving calls from Gov. Of Canada every other day and they're checking for the same thing.. if we are following the protocols or if we're developing any symptoms. Just this morning someone physically showed up at our door and ask the same questions. They wanted to know if any of the people living on the quarantine place has not travelled with my parents (in our case, that's me) and they ask if I left the place or do i quarantine with them. They've been very serious checking if we had any visitors since we got home from the airport. I think their really doing rounds.
