Until the pgp2020 is posted nobody can guarantee how family will be counted. Last year was the first time they didn’t use current family size for everything.Hello
I have question regarding family size as am planning for 2020 PGP application.
I got married in 2018 and i will be provoding 2017,2018 ,2019 notice of assesment.Does my wife count for 2017 family size for income requirement purpose.I talked to lawyer and he says you need to have minimum income for all 3 years for the size of family on the date of application.but CIC website has contradictory explanations i will paste one example from cic website below. If some one can clarify that would be great.
Example 3
Ryan and Anne became common-law partners in 2017. They had a baby in 2018. Ryan wants to sponsor his grandmother and grandfather. Ryan’s grandparents don’t have any dependent children. Anne will be the co-signer.
If Ryan wants to sponsor his grandparents in 2019, Ryan and Anne (together) have to meet the income requirements for 2018, 2017 and 2016.
In 2016, Ryan’s family size was 3:
In 2017, Ryan’s family size was 4:
- Ryan
- his grandmother and grandfather
In 2018, Ryan’s family size was 5:
- Ryan
- his grandmother and grandfather
- his partner, Anne
Even though Anne is only included in the family size in 2017, she has to provide her proof of income for 2018, 2017 and 2016, as she’s the co-signer on the application.
- Ryan
- his grandmother and grandfather
- his partner, Anne
- his baby

Appreciate your response. I got the Application Receive, probably just have to wait for another feedback from them.To me, webform is the only way to communicate with IRCC. Sending email to CPC-M is so difficult.
But in my opinion, no need to rush to update that information now. You can do that when you receive sponsorship approval and visa office is determined.
