Hello,
I got the email today from cpc Ottawa asked me to resubmit imm5406, in the email there is a link for the most recent version form, but the form can't be opened. I was looking online to find 2019 June version imm5406, I couldn't find it anywhere. Is anyone has the similar situation, is that form being replaced by the older version? Thank you.

Why the need to resubmit? Signature missing or missing info? Do you know?

Can we do medical exams in advance?
I know it's a no for spouse sponsorship, but can't find an answer for PGP program.
no, you need to wait request, IME # and paper work

what is the pre-arrival service letter? Does it mean PR will be granted later? thanks
its informative letter and yes you will get PPR after usually but sometimes it sent automatically

No I have not received biometric request, could someone post the content of that pdf letter on here please? My parents is visiting me in Canada shortly, can they take biometric here? I saw online IRCC mentioned that we can take biometric at some Service Canada starting 2019, anyone knows when in 2019 this will be available?

Biometrics collection at select Service Canada locations
In Canada, the enrolment of biometrics is conducted at designated Service Canada locations for permanent and temporary residence applicants lawfully in Canada.

For clients who have a BIL, biometrics will be collected by enrolment agents using equipment provided and maintained by IRCC.

Enrolment agents will not collect biometric information from applicants who do not provide a copy of their BIL. Service Canada enrolment agents do not provide administrative support services to applicants. As well, Service Canada employees do not make discretionary decisions to exempt applicants from biometrics collection.

Note: There is a temporary public policy exemption for in-Canada applicants. More specifically, foreign nationals who are eligible to apply from within Canada would normally provide their biometrics as part of an application or request for

  • a temporary resident visa (TRV)
  • a work permit or study permit
  • a temporary resident permit
  • permanent residence
However, since there is currently no biometric service delivery network within Canada, these applicants are exempt from the biometrics requirement until such time as the public policy is lifted. Applicants who apply from within Canada, but whose applications are not eligible to be processed from within Canada, are not covered under this public policy exemption. Those applicants are required to leave Canada in order to submit their biometrics as part of their application.

Surprise surprise,
Just checked e-cas using my UCI as well as my father's and there is no information available.
Went to Link Your Paper Application, using Principal Applicant's birth and passport details and found an application to link and I just linked it. It shows applicant, dependent details, permanent file nbr starting with F, date as docs received 10 May. This is thru my Dad's GCKey account. Status is:
We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you. Also received mail confirming this linkage.
@YULIA-2016, pls update line 116. Province is ON. Thanks

My parents are arriving here on 9th Aug for 6 months. How to request IRCC for Biometric request letter so that they do it before their departure from India? Any suggestions.

There is no way to request Biometric . You just have to wait until IRCC ask.

I think “Applicants who apply from within Canada, but whose applications are not eligible to be processed from within Canada, are not covered under this public policy exemption. Those applicants are required to leave Canada in order to submit their biometrics as part of their application.” refers to our parents. Since their applications are processed at local visa offices in home country, thats why the biometrics letter says they have to leave Canada.

Hi Leon,
Should applications to IRCC and Quebec be filed at the same time? Or only The federal process should be undertaken first?
I’m somehow confused....

Did you get your response? I thought it was at the same time so I sent it to quebec but it got returned back saying that I didnt send the acceptance letter from the canadian immigration. I thought the first email we all received was the one.

That means they just assign the file number , your ecas will be available today or latest by tomorrow. Processing on my CIC is standard language. your application will start processing when you see a line entry with date on Ecas

For linking paper application, what number do we use if the spouse is not a co-signer. For e.g I am sponsoring my mother and have two kids.
Should I use 2 (me as sponsor and my mother). 3 (including my spouse who did not cosign) or 5 (including my two kids as well). Anyone who linked can shed some light ?
