Hello All,

I sent my application to my parents in India by email. My Dad printed them out and sent back to me with signatures. I received documents back and just noticed that papers on which they printed are slightly bigger than what we usually use here in Staples printers. I asked my Dad and he confirmed that he printed on A4 papers. Does paper size in this case really matter? I am just worried about this.

thank you all in advance!!!
The paper with different size will work, no worries.

Affidavit of Parentage signed by your parents is going to help for sure, no need to worry! Also i like the idea of providing other supporting documents such as passport, school passing certificates which state your parents name.

But you will still be required to provide the copy of your birth certificate, even if it doesn't carry your name. If the certificate is in a language other than English, get it translated too.
Thank for your response. One more question, do we need to provide IRCC with only the first and last page of our parents passports or all the marked pages, including visas and stamps?

Issue with birth certificate - born in 1981 in India. No birth certificates were issued then. Neither my grade 10 or Grade 12 mark sheet have my date of birth or my parents name, however My marriage certificate does indicate son of so and so ( no Date of birth though). I called CIC and the agent said to submit what you have and explain the situation. i have seen in other thread that certificate of birth from Indian consulate in not applicable (i have used that successfully for my PR and eventually sponsoring my wife's PR - not sure/can't remember if it was required) .So my plan is to submit the
- mark sheet
- marriage certificate indicating relationship
- certificate of birth
- letter explaining the situation
Should i submit anything else? other have mentioned an affidavit ( what do i write on it and does it have been notarized only or lawyer can help me with creating one.
i did look in other threads and was not able to find anything conclusive. Any help/advise would be much appreciated.
You should also get an affidavit done,
Additionally, the following are sufficient, you won't have any issues if you provide those!
- mark sheet
- marriage certificate indicating relationship
- certificate of birth
- letter explaining the situation

Hello Guys,

Need suggestion from Expert or someone who has gone through this situation please.

Here I have to prove my relationship with my parents and for that they are looking for birth certificate as mentioned on the checklist.

I don’t have one and never required in any situation in my life before.

What are the alternate proofs I can provide without getting any problem in the process.
Just provide an explanation letter, in the letter mention that you are proving your date of birth and relationship with your parents visa your passport, and education credential which carries your parents name and your date of birth. You should also get an affidavit done to confirm your date of birth and relationship with your parents.

Guys I read in the other threads that IRCC is very strict for their Birth Certificate requirement (sponsor’s birth certificate as a proof of relationship with parents), I am very worried because I don’t have one. Can someone please assure me that other docs. like school certificate, old passport, voter card can use be used as an alternate? It’s a high time and after such a long wait I don’t want to take any chance. Please advice.

Only first and last page of the passport is required but you can also attach copies of their visas.

Hi All,

I created an account on CIC website and tried to link my parents PGP application.
However, I was unable to do so.

What could be wrong? Anyone else experience the same thing?

Please guide.

Hi,
I also faced this same problem as in US and Canada, A4 paper is of size 8.5*11 whereas in India, it is 8.25*11.70.
It's not a big deal as I confirmed from IRCC agent
