Hello Experts,

*******************************************Please need your valuable inputs and help*********************************************************

We are family of 3 ( myself, wife and mother) and my father expired in July 2018. Now I have received invitation to submit an application to sponsor my parents for year 2019.

I have two questions which highlighted below
A) In Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008) which should be filled by my mother ( since she is principal applicant) there is question 3) How many family members, including you, are in this application .

option 1) one(just my mother) , option 2) two { mother & father(passed away)}

Also under dependents section in the Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008) should my mother ( principal applicant ) include my late father even though he has passed away.

Note: While submitting the Interest to sponsor application form on January 28th I have only submitted by mother details.

Sorry for your dad.
No u don’t t have to include details of ur dad.
Yes your mom is PA and she don’t have any dependent.
Don’t forget to include your daddy’s death certificate

Parents Marriage Certificate

My parents do not have a marriage certificate. Does anybody else have a similar situation. If yes, can you please tell me what you did for the replacement document?

Thank you for your reply Jayesh. Anybody else in the same situation?

An affidavit will be required for marriage certificate and an explanation letter to describe the situation and reason for not including Marriage certificate. You can include any other documents which can show their relationship if you have any.

I am providing an affidavit, along with a few other supporting papers where they are mentioned as spouses.

Does your sister have a mental condition? IF not, then they don't fall into the definition of the dependent child.

Fill out parents only in IMM0008. Dad as Principal applicant + mom as dependent (or vice versa).
You only need to put the people who you are sponsoring in this form.

Please help with this situation ,
can i apply only for my mom ,
should I add my dad as a dependant even if I am not sponsoring him?

A) Only 1 as your father is passed away (Sorry to hear about your loss)
On IMM 0008 she don't have any dependents so she does not have to include your father.
Sorry to hear about your loss ,
I had a question if my mother is pricipal applicant ,and I dont want to sponsor my father as he is sick ,can I not add him as a dependant in for imm008

Hello. If the parents have been in, and are currently in Canada on a super visa, is it better to state current country of residence here in Canada or back home? Thank you.

Your dad must be included in your family size (meet income requirements) as well as in your application.
>>

To calculate your family size, include:

  • yourself
  • your spouse or common-law partner (who could also be your co-signer)
  • your dependent children
    • only include your children if they meet the definition of a dependent child
    • for young children, only include them starting on the year they were born (see example 2)
  • your spouse’s or partner’s dependent children
    • only include children who meet the definition of a dependent child
    • for young children, only include them starting on the year they were born (see example 2)
  • any other person you (and your co-signer, if applicable) may have sponsored in the past, for whom you’re still financially responsible
  • the parents and grandparents you want to sponsor and their dependants (spouse or partner and dependent children). You must also include
    • any dependent children who won’t come to Canada with your parents or grandparents
    • your parent or grandparent’s spouse or partner, even if they won’t come to Canada
    • your parent or grandparents’ separated spouse
