Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2018

Hello everyone, does anyone know what benefits have our parents had when we sponsor them for 20 years. Also when we do our Tax return, do we include them under our return, or they have to do their own Tax return. Thank you!

In general, once they are tax residenants here, they file their own tax return.

I think there is some tax credit if they are diabled and you provide them with major care, food, housing..etc and you are the main caregiver to them.
They can't be just old. The requirement is physical or mental impairment .

Congratulations finally some good news. Where was your application being processed? Also did you redo the medical? If so How long it took to get ppr once medical was done.

Its Mississauga processing our application. Yes we had to redo the medical. Medical passed on 18 Feb and ppr received on March 1st. Best of luck.

It looks like poeple who get remedical get PPR within a month.. Not sure if that is case with our LVO or not.

Atleast you have got the medical done. I hvnt even got the medical request. I have contacted my local MP & have got the GCSM notes but nothing can fast track the application other then waiting. I am October 2018 applicant as well.

Hello all:
Sep 2018 applicant here. LVO.
Medicals done, PCC uploaded Feb 2020.
Remedicals done March 8 2021.
Remedicals accepted March 15 2021.
Decision made on ECAS march 15, 2021.


On IRCC web portal it says:
-We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.
-March 15, 2021 You passed the medical exam.
-February 4, 2020 We are reviewing the additional documents you provided.
-You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.
-We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes.
-We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.
-Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

On ECAS it says DECISION MADE.

Why is there discrepancy? What are the next steps? When can we expect them?
