how long does it take from application received to decision made on sponsor side?

nobody can say, depends on many factors, i was waiting 1 year

2014 - 5000 cases
2015 - 5000 cases
2016- 10000cases
2017 - posibly 7000 cases
CIC still give PPR in 2016/ limit 20000 persons/
many people 2014-2016 still waiting PPR

As I was reading comments from everyone, I came up with couple questions hoping someone to help me sort out.

1. My Application is currently listed in ecas as "Application Received" for both Sponsorship Application and PR Application, Is this the AOR everyone's referring to ?

2. Although my application is listed in ecas, I did not receive AOR letter or email from CIC. Is that normal ?

3. It seems like some people can specify the visa office their application has been send to. However I dont have a clue where is mine. Is there any way to confirm this information?

4. As my application still shows "Application Received" status, i assume its not SA yet. My application was received Aug 3 according to ecas. Is there anybody have similar received date already have SA?

5. How and where people confirm SA status ? By mail, email or ecas ?

6. Does Medical request come after SA confirmation ?

answers below:

1. just wait, you will receive an email from cic regarding AOR. ECAS just shows the status earlier. and yes "Application Received" refers AOR
2. already answered in Q1, you will receive email.
3. You application will only be moved to visa office once you receive SA, so your app is still in Mississauga office
4. yes you are right, it's not SA. i had similar situation like you. received AOR email. still waiitng for SA
5. normally via email or letter

I was waiting IME 6 mon after SA and my LVO is not too busy like Ottawa for example

Hello everyone,

I received a letter from CPC-missisagua that my parents application is getting transferred to CPC-Ottawa for further processing. Here is what it says:

You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. Accordingly, the Application for Permanent
Residence for your relative has been forwarded to the visa office in CPC-Ottawa for further processing.
This visa office was selected based on your relative’s home address and the requirements of the
Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

I am the representative for my parents application and I am in toronto. My parents are in Delhi. When the application is getting tranferred to CPC-Ottawa, what does this mean with regard to the police certificates and medical being asked in coming months.

Will the above documents be asked to me here in Canada? or it will be asked directly by New Delhi VO where my parents are?

On ecas, I have on the details "Your Action is Required". This has been like that for more than 2 months now. Is there something that I need to do?

This is such a helpful forum. Decide to join so that I can share my timeline with everyone else.

I submitted sponsorship in 2013, didn't meet financial requirement, application rejected.

I submitted the second time in 2016 when there were only 5000 spots, the documents were accepted, HOWEVER!!! I wrote the last number on my credit card wrong, so they cannot charge the application fee, application is rejected!!! Just want to kill myself with this stupid mistake.

When I prepared all the documents the third time, and thinking I am ready to send it when 2017 application opens up, CIC changed policy saying now sponsorship is a draw. WHAT~~~~~. I was thinking I may never get selected (based on my experience on wining a draw from any party or game). AND, I didn't get selected in the first round as expected, but still super upset! HOWEVER, I was selected from the second intake. I think I might've used all my luck of the year to get this change.

I triple checked everything this time, and submitted my application package today (Nov 16, 2017), just hope it will go through smoothly.

Also wish everyone else who was chosen and submitted their applications can get the file moving as fast as it can be.

Not sure how I can share my timeline in the spreadsheet.
