PArent Sponsership 2016 : Some Questions

hi Guys,

I know its early but I have started preparing for sponsoring my parent to Canada for 2016. and I have some questions to ask.

1) I submitted sponsorship / PR application for my spouse in june 2015 which wont complete at the time of submitting my moms application, so in this case am I still eligible to sponser my parents even though my wifes application decision wont have come by then.?
2) in the checklist they have not asked for photograph nor is there any photo specification or language ability or medical proofs , can you confirm these please, are they not needed ?

3) when did the cutoff reached for 2015, someone said that CIC received full 5000 applications in less than 2 days, is that correct ?

1) Yes you are, assuming you meet other requirements such as income for eg.
2) i don't know.
3) Yes, that is correct. The cap was reached as told here in about a day and a half.

2) None of these are required at the time of submission unless something changes for 2016. CIC will later ask for these once your application is initially accepted. "Language Ability" is out of concern for parents' sponsorship.

3) CIC received 5000 app in one and half day in 2015. (2015 PGP Timeline spreadsheet link is given in my signature)

Hi Guys,

I am hoping to sponsor my mother in 2016 but had a couple of questions regarding minimum family income. Hoping you guys could help.

I have already applied to sponsor my wife and that file is still in progress so she is not in canada yet.
Now do I need to qualify for the family of 3 including my wife or just 2(me and my mother)?
Also my income in 2012 - $25k, 2013 - $30K and 2014 - $27K, would i qualify to sponsor?

Your family size would be 3.

Whether it's 2 or 3, unfortunately, you don't have sufficient income to sponsor your mother. Refer to Guide 5772.

Yes - that's correct.

We're also applying from Quebec. From all the information I gathered so far, we only need to submit 1 year NOA.
But there are so many places in the application form where they ask you to provide last 3 years income and other information(which as a quebec resident , you are exempted from). What to write there?

Also, do we need to pay two fees? Quebec and Federal to sponsor our parents.

You can call CIC and clarify your doubts. However I think u need to satisfy federal requirements before quebec govt requirements are met. After CPC missisuga check that u are eligible as per federal requirements. Your file will go to quebec for their checks. So I guess it takes more time for quebec residents. But call CIC for clarification.
