Can we make changes to paper application already submitted in person?
Hi, will someone please help.
I will be going to the consulate of canada in NY next week to find out my answer. But my head is feeling like a palm seed growing roots in my brain already, and I am hoping someone can help me. This is regarding making changes to my visa application that has been submitted in person at the consulate. Can we do that? Or can we redo the application over with the correct information?
My situation is this:
When filling out the application, there was a question about "US Status" and I mistakenly chose option "Worker". A few days after submitting the application in person, a friend told me that I needed to select option "Others" for my answer instead of "worker" and to type in my visa status as G1. Therefore, I received email from the consulate that I must submit 3 documents: letter of invitation, proof of US status, and employment authorization.
I will be traveling to canada on a business trip. My office is holding an investment forum in Toronto in collaboration with the embassy and consulate of my home country. They have sent a diplomatic note on my behalf and that's counted as fulfilling requirement on letter of invitation.
I work for a government representative office of my home country, and receive salary from them, thus far, I dont require nor do I have an employment authorization. Additionally, the canadian consulate already has my passport. In it, it indicates that i have a legal and valid G1 Status.
Will someone please help? I am thinking of explaining the situation to the consulate next tuesday in person. I will bring additional document to prove my US Status. My employer is also preparing a document to support and verify my employment with them.
Is it possible to ask them if I could make changes in the application and or if I can redo the application over?
I really appreciate your inputs. Many thanks.
