Paper TRV processing time within Canada

I don't think anyone actually received their TRV as per CIC timeline. Average processing time i would say around 1.5 months.

seems many ppl on same boat like me .... i am on work permit atm in Toronto...and sent my TRV application on oct 21st. they received it on oct 23rd....sent them an email asking the status on nov 17th. as i had flight booked for nov 25th. they replied saying its in process and cant confirm when it will be ready. so i canceled my ticket .now i m seeing on website that they are processing application received on oct 30 but still not go my passport back. i sent another email to them requesting status of it. lets see when they reply and what they say. hopefully we all will get our passport back soon.

I'm experiencing the same problem. I sent my application on the 17th they received it on the 18th of October. Still nothing. I have a flight in 5 days so the excitement continues to grow. I e-mailed them lets see what happens.

Do you think sending CIC your flight ticket will help? i am planing to do that....

I submitted my Online TRV last November 4, 2013. I received an e-mail from CIC-OTTAWA office last November 18, 2013 requiring me to submit my passport which i sent November 19, 2013 then the day after they received and i got my passport with visa last December 6.

i have applied paper TRV 2 weeks back & i have my flight ticket booked for end of Jan (around 8 weeks from now). So i believe there is enough time to get my paper TRV. What do you think? or should i inform CPP Ottawa regarding my flight reservation well in advance, will that help or it will make negative impact on my application processing? any suggestion?

i doubt it will do any help. i informed them about my flight ..all they said is they can not confirm when file will be ready ..if i wish i can send request to cancel my application and they will send passport back without visa

reached them- oct 22nd
approved -dec 1st ( SUNDAY- so they might be working overtime)
passport sent out on- dec 4th
passport back in hand -dec 9th
flight- dec 11th

NOTES: I Called the call centre and they made a note on my file, i faxed my flight info to them as well, i emailed( but i got generic responses), but in order to truly find out where my passport was i went to the member of parliment in my riding ( oliva chows office) and they were able to find out when my pp left and where it was in the process.

I'm also waiting for my TRV. Canada Post notified me that my documents arrived CPP-Ottawa on November 8th. However, I called CIC and dialed my client number and the automatic system told me that my application was received on November 14th. I asked the CIC representative that picked up my call what was that about and she didn't know, she told me that could be the day they first opened my package. I really, really want to go back home before the 25th.

finally yesterday after speaking with several CIC call center agents one person was able to find out that my passport has been processed and been send 11th december. today checked on canadapost tracker got activated and its on its way. PHEW!....finally!
my timeline is:
appied: 22nd oct
recieved at cpp:23rd oct
passport out in mail for delivery: 11th dec

As per latest update on CIC they are processing Nov 7th application but in real they are processing Oct 25th applications.

Congratulation!!!

I submitted my paper application on October 26 they received it on October October 29th and till now I have had no response from them. Its been 48 days!! I emailed them 4 times and I keep calling the call center agents but they seems to know nothing about Ottawa office. I did put an urgency on my application on Friday 13th of December to get my passport back to me as I already cancelled my tickets that I had booked for that day (December 13). But no action has been taken by the Ottawa office yet.

I need to visit back home as soon as possible, its really very urgent I have provided them with my details too. I can't seem to find a way to contact the Ottawa office, thinking for going there in person on Wednesday 18th- but doesn't look like anyone had any success with that till now. Did you show your member of parliament all you immigration documents and then tell your story, how long did it take for them to find out the status of you passport. Any suggestion will be helpfull?? (regular processing time for this application is 23days- they should really take that off!!!)

Hi. My paper TRV application reached CIC on November 14. I sent CIC an email last week, today they replied. They told me that my application was finalized on December 13th and that my passport will be returned to me shortly. I'm hoping Ill get home before the 25th!
