Trust me, I jumped on my knees when I couldn't find the copy of my passport however I have the copies of my all other documents including expired passport that are sent to CHC-Islamabad. Now the question is what I can do considering the current situation. I emailed CHC and hasn't received any response yet. Secondly, my program director said he has already applied for my deferral to summer term but the letter cannot be issued until later this term because the system is set up in such a way so I wonder if that would be a good idea to email CHC about it without the letter in hand. Besides, my details are as follows:
Name: Bisma Farooqi (I don't blame you for calling me sir)
Application: Paper-based (through VFS-Karachi)
Date applied: July 18, 2014 (biometrics done same day)
Accepted at : York University (Masters program- Fall session 2014)
Medical call received : September 17, 2014

I don't know how to comment on your situation. If you don't present a deferral letter, CHC will not believe you. Also, CHC will not freeze your application till the next session, this is simply not their policy. If you have been asked for such a letter by CHC and you can't provide it then you don't need to worry about your passport's copy since the later becomes your secondary headache.

I might as well not inform them about the deferral then until i get the letter. But my medical can't be done unless I have the copy of my passport. Sigh. I wonder how long will CHC take to respond to my email.

to us ki koi bhi copy nahi pari, expire passport ko edit kar do ya IOM ki minnat kar do Koi to hoga is maslay ka hal. IOM se contact kia hay, wo kia boltay hain?

Dear friends,

Further to my passport request, I have some questions, please help me if you know the answers:

1) Do I need to submit all expired passports as well (4 in total)?
2) Do I also receive an e.mail confirming that my visa has been approved, this is because MyCIC still says "final decision not started"????
3) Should I avail the send home option? VFS offers this facility at extra cost.
4) How long does it take to receive my beloved passport? :-*

To your 2 point I don't think online applicants get visa approval email because Passport request automatically means u are getting visa.

Expired ki copy hai but that surely can't be edited. IOM is acting like a jerk at this moment. I pleaded them but they forwarded my email to MHD-Islamabad who responded this: Please contact us once you have passport in your hands. I mean how stupid is this???

OK, fax the CHC followed by a Case Specific Inquiry. This will surely help.

Its quite smooth process if u have all the necessary documents which have been asked in appointment confirmation email specially don't forget to bring polio vaccination certificate copy .
