You can only carry 10K CAD with you, if it fits within your fee range, its the best you pay when you arrive there. otherwise you would have to pay through bank in that case they deduct quite a few bucks

you can only carry up to 5000$ if you are traveling from Pakistan

Forex limit for each passenger reduced to $5,000: exports to Afghanistan to be in dollars

The government has decided to reduce the present limit of foreign exchange to US $5,000 from US $10,000 for each passenger travelling aboard with a view to curbing the menace of smuggling

as per Canadian customs, if you are carrying more than 10K $ you just have to declare it... i carried 11K + when i first time landed

Under the legislation, there are no restrictions on the amount of money that you can bring into or take out of Canada, nor is it illegal to do so. However, you now have to report to a border services officer amounts equal to or greater than CAN$10,000, or its equivalent in a foreign currency that you are bringing into or taking out of Canada.

This reporting requirement will assist the government in its efforts to:

investigate and prosecute offences related to money laundering and terrorist financing;
respond to the threat posed by organized crime; and
fulfill international commitments to fight transnational crime.

I paid through my USD account in Pakistan. I am not sure if Royal bank of Canada detected any money or not but I am sure they gave me conversion rate pretty low than the actual.
