Dear members

You have to send your original drvr license along with their application form downloadable from websites of the embassy and pay their fee.

No problem....i try my best to share my experiences and hope that it helps you..

First of all....I would not recommend staying in a hotel and looking for a place to live....every dollar spent needs to be thought about...u'll end up paying a lot of money and will find it extremely difficult to find a place in a few days...

You should check online...there are plenty of sites....try to shortlist where u want to go....check google for everything....even look up the place on google maps...

Here are some links...

http://www.viewit.ca/

http://www.hometrader.ca/

http://www.247apartments.com/rentals/Ontario/

http://www.rentershotline.ca/

http://www.rent-ontario.com/

You also need to know how much u r willing to pay per month....don't worry about schooling yet (if u have kids)....just look up a place within ur budget and then check which schools are nearby...

I will be posting some usefull information on what one needs to do when u get here....it all needs to be planned very well......u don't wanna loose ur savings and ur time.....and believe me.....it will go like anything and u'll be freaking out pretty soon......just make sure u bring enough funds....I know...one can not define "enough" ...but I hope u get my point.....

As for jobs....well there are agencies here that u'll have to register urself with...they might be able to help....but patience is the keep....patience and sustainability....

Things will happen when they are meant to happen....just have faith in Allah Almighty !!!!!

Feel free to contact me via PM if required...

Best of Luck !!!!!
Thanks for such an informative post +1.

Nice and useful information +1. My pakistani driving licence is in pathetic condition. I am afraid it might not be acceptable there. I am planning to replace it with new one before going.

Assalam o Allaikum,

Is there anyone going for pre-departure orintation session at IOM, i sent an email to IOM yesterday and they replied as follows;

"Kindly share with us below documents required for registration with COA session:
• PHEP Document: We need scan copy of the PHEP form in which CHC office has provided you below mentioned information
• B file Number: Any document from CHC in which your file number and name would be mentioned"

Now, what does PHEP Document mean, should i provide them with the copy of letter that i received with my PPR-1?

Kindly advise if you have gone through the the procedure, and how important is to attend this session.

Regards.
You just need to send them PPR1 letter. It got all the information needed. I did the same. By the way ... in which city you are?

Not yet Bro.....
Received my original docs back, 3-4 days ago....And had emailed LVO, about my originals docs, n PPR-1 status....
They had replied 3 days back, that they sent my original docs in may 2012, to my consultant, and for PPR-1 status, they replied, that " A review is pending on your file, which will be over shortly"

After digging out the matter on original docs with my consultant, finally, he admitted, that my docs were lost in his office, and now they found them, and have returned them to me....

" A review is pending on your file, which will be over shortly" I think this means Inshallah, good news is coming soon....

Actually, I have sold my house, and possession is due, on 15 nov 2012....I;m really in a bad situation....coz....If, buyer give me grace time, that would be 15-20 days, but ppr-1 to time to fly would be around 2 months...and that much grace time will might not b entertained.....and on the other hand, I'll b moving on rent, for like 2-3 months, and people will not easily give their house on rent for such a short time....And then, shifting from one place to another...and...and ....and..

Really need prayers of everyone.....

Inshallah... every thing will be fine for you. However I think selling home was not a good choice (atleast before PPR1)... but what is done is done... so dont need to worry now. In which city are you...? you can take a place on rent without mentioning that you would be leaving within 4 months.

Mine is computerized and only 3 years old but due to number of challans and remain in wallet for long time it's paper is slipping from plastic. I am not confirmed but I think it should be computerized. The old one might not be acceptable.

Dears,
If you have old book type or a worn off computerized card license, it takes only one visit to get a new one for five years.[at least in Lahore what i know]. Only you need to take original CNIC and old drvr license to th SP traffic office.
