Pakistani Applicants waiting for PPR (Stage 1 or 2 letters) from CHC London

I applied in Nov 2009, Docs request received in Feb 2010, Docs submitted in May 2010, Med req in March 2012, Med test performed in March 2012, PPR-1 on Oct 16, 2012. My NOC is 0213.

AOA Everyone !!!!

Maybe everyone already knows...but just thought i'd share with everyone....

For all those who are planning to land soon and in a while....be sure to bring:

1. International drivers license (u can drive here for 60 days on it)
2. Letter of Authentication (issued by driving license authority...otherwise u'll have to get it made from here from the Pakistani Consulate)
3. Pakistani Drivers License showing an issue date of more than 4-5 years ago.
4. For those who want to bring a goods to follow list (the forms are available online....download it and fill it before hand....u'll save a lot of time (IMO....not needed at all)

You can buy a car the day u arrive here....so instead of renting or depending on friends or family....plan to buy early......u'll automatically get used to driving here before ur driving test.......get ur drivers license done on priority....u have to take the G1 written test first and then u can go for the full drivers license (G)...more info here (for Ontario

Thanks Dear, is there any good of getting the Letter of Authentication (issued by driving license authority) attested by Ministry of Foriegn Affair in Pakistan, as i noticed such an option there.

My youngest son's Given name is Muhammad Ibrahim and on landing document it is printed Muhammad Ibrahi. "m" is missing. On his counterfoil/VISA on passport, the name is complete and even on my landing paper, under accompanying family members list, his name is complete (IBRAHIM).

What to do now????????

I asked my consultant to contact LVO and explain the situation to them. If this is a printing error then it should be ractified. If it is some kind of limitation, then atleast i should have some thing in written to show on POE to avoid any mispah/problem.

- List of goods, and list of goods to follow
- Get your jewellery evaluated and attach it to your above list, to avoid paying tax unnecessarily.

Can you share your list/template of pre-departure tasks and documents list which each have to present/shown to immigration officer at airport right-after landing.

Moreover, elaborating enough funds, please explain it in relation to immigration specific requirements according to family member(s) composition. Love to see your detail advice to understand.... Would all these be tax free for lifetime? Jewelry or funds (what is best currency US$ or CAD $; cash or bank draft) whatever you show there….

Would appreciate if you or any other senior member shares experience regarding survival jobs & professional jobs market situation, living cost and Muslim community (in particular Pakistani) as comparison among Ontario, Albert and British Columbia. Thanks indeed

Hello my Pakistani friends,

I'm from srilanka and pardon me for being in your space; I just want to clarify few facts , from you guys about OB442(pre - Feb. 2008 applicants) issue.
is there any body who was asked to do medicals & pay landing fees prior to march 29 2012 and still being effected by the OB442 ?
I'm just curious, the fact that quite number of applicants from Colombo have been unfairly penalized, wonder is it same for the Pakistani nationals ?
Please share if you have any information.

Congrats!..Don't worry you can fix this error at POE [Point of Entry]. When you present the COPR papers to CBSA officer just tell him/her the mistake in the name. No need to email to VO OR think of returning COPR at this stage. Relax.

Assalam o Allaikum All,

I am new to this forum, infact this is the first forum that I've joined, I got my PPR-1 on Oct 16, 2012 and sent all the documents on Oct 19, my package was received by LVO on Oct 22, I have couple of queries and seek answer/advice from you people;
1-Whats the current average time for receiving PPR-2 after PPR-1
2-How much time is given for submission of Passports to CHC Islamabad after PPR-2

I am asking these question because i have to travel out of the country for a project on Nov 5, I'll be comming back after 3 or 4 weeks,

Kindly advise me if its wise to travel in this situation or should i wait for PPR-2.

Thanks and appreciate your help. Could you let me know what to do if I do not have any address to be given at the time of landing as I will staying in a hotel for the first few days and than start searching for a permenant place.

For sure you must arrange a 'short-stay' accommodation prior to your landing. The necessity of which cannot be overemphasized more. If you have friends/relatives, they can be approached for the same, if you do not have anyone, the following is recommended:

Toronto:

*Both provide a/port pick-up services. The places are used by many satisfactorily.

Calgary:
Not much such places are available. However, this ad by a service-provider caught my eye...

At point # 3, you have said , a Pakistani license 4-5 yrs old....

My question is, I have a computerized Pakistan License which is one day old, and have a copy license, which is around 15yrs old....
Will my newly computerized license, will give any benefit?
