I am contemplating between taking a U-Haul or using a mover, but it is still early for me. I am at the 50% mark in the PR process.

From my research, U-Pack seems like the best option. They have what they call "relo-cubes" in various sizes. Once you load the cube with your items, they give you the option of keeping it for you in storage at about $100/month. Whenever your ready, you let them know and they'll deliver the cube(s) to your new address via truck. Also, their quote includes driver, taxes and fuel costs - from Atlanta to Montreal for a 2 bedroom apartment the quote I got was $1700.

Its worth looking into - i think!

That's a great quote!! I was quoted $3000+ for a 2 bedroom apartment from NJ to Toronto! I did research PODs but they did not have service in Canada. Will look into U-Pack for sure.

Does anyone have experience with moving companies for Canada to USA? Any ideas of the ballpark cost for a moving company to move a small studio apartment from Toronto to Denver? Doesn't have to be next day delivery, even 1-2 weeks is fine. I have no intention or time to drive a U-Haul all the way there. The other idea I came up with is to pack up belongings in boxes and drive down to Buffalo to mail them at ~$50-70/box. Of course this means I can't send any large items like furniture and would have to buy anew. What's the most cost effective option if you have had experience with this?
