i am going to Canada on 14th January.
Flight will depart at 2:30 pm from delhi by AIR INDIA and will arrive on heathrow at 6:00 pm. on 15th jan. layover time is 19 hour then it will depart at 1:00 pm by AIR CANADA to canada. though UKBA says that you are exempted for transit visa if your next flight is within 24 hours, it also say that you need a transit visa if you are staying overnight. But if you are exempted for 24hours then it will obviously be overnight in most cases. they also say that you are not allowed to stay in the airport so you will have to go to outside and then you need to go through immigration and other formalities check and it is depend on immigration officer that whether to give you transit visa or to deport back to where you started. this issue is making me very nervous.
Has anyone had this condition before, please guide me. what was your experience and what did you do???
Some say that airline executives wont let you board on plane. is this true??
