So I am in the process of preparing the application for my wife, some questions here:

1- My wife is in another country, so I'd send her the forms filled on email, and she signs them and send them to me by mail and I then will sign and send. She signs more than me anyway. Anyway, question is: My wife has no UCI yet but I have one through my PR application. Will she get one? or we will use mine?

2- related to above, does my wife need to create a myCIC account? and when?

3- I need a brief description of the "link account to application" thing. Whose account? and who uses it?

4- I can be my wife's representative, right? Can I use her online application? like send requested docs and sign electronically? and if yes, I sign USING MY NAME, right?

5- NEW schedule A has no gaps in time, so I filled the school to educational training gap (3 months) as unemployed! should I do this? or how should I write it?

ONE IMPORTANT Question here, that is rather subjective

6- My wife is a medical doctor. She will need a license to work here. Should I elaborate on that in the settlement ideas? or it would seem like our marriage is a part of reaching the canadian medical market :D.

Thanks, folks.

1. your wife will receive her own UCI when IRCC receives her application. There is no need for her to put a UCI on her form. Your UCI is yours and hers will be different. It is quite common for the applicant to not receive their UCI until the end of the process, so it's not really needed.

2. yes, i believe the new processing encourages creating a MyCIC account. she will not have the ability to do this until after receiving AOR (acknowledgement of Receipt) or SA (sponsor approval) when she will be given a file number.

3. i believe both the sponsor and applicant can use this feature. basically you are connecting both applications to the online portal. there are threads about this that might provide help. it is very common that the linking feature takes multiple efforts to work correctly.

4. yes, you can be your wife's representative. she will need to assign you as a representative per the form in the package. forms can only be validated online or hand signed. i would imagine if a document request was made for the applicant, the applicant would need to fill out and sign the form. i am assuming the representative is only able to upload the forms and communicate with IRCC on the applicant's behalf. others will confirm.

5. the schedule A form is for the applicant. If you are the sponsor, you do not fill out the schedule A. only your wife, the PR applicant fills out the applicant forms. For application purposes, you are not a "family member" or "spouse", you are ONLY the sponsor and ONLY need to fill out the forms listed on the SPONSOR checklist. If your referring to what your wife would write on her form if she had a gap in time, then she will want to put "umemployed" for that timeframe. there is no employment requirement for either person, so having "unemployed" on personal history isn't an issue.

6. if that's a part of your settlement plan, then add it. it will show she will be making efforts to be a productive member of society. there is nothing suspicious about a newcomer wanting to get licensed in their professional field in canada after becoming pr.

The application can actually be linked prior to receiving AOR1 or SA. You can link it with the information from IMM 0008. You'll have several options for what information you want to use available to you when you try to link. I linked almost a week before receiving AOR1. You'll see a temporary application number in there until you receive AOR1, however.

For outland sponsor will my wife have to take IELTS?
No. That is not a requirement. If she does, it can help illustrate her settlement is easier, but no negative impact if no test.
