Yes, you can move there, you just can't use that word, as silly as it sounds . If you are taking all the belongings, you will need to cross separately. Send all the belongings across with your husband. As a returning Canadian, he is fine to bring everything. You should cross with only a bag or 2. Bring along proof of the sponsorship app, like the sponsor approval letter or the fees receipt. Explain at the border that you are visiting your husband while the PR app is in process; they sometimes ask for proof of funds to support yourself, so take along a bank statement just in case.SadieRoo said:If the application is still processing can I cross the boarder with our belongings with my Canadian husband or do I have to fly in and either cross without him or fly into Canada..... If I am allowed to be in Canada with my husband and change my address it seems to me that I can live there while waiting just not work am I correct?
The border officers know a lot of people are really moving, not visiting, because they will get their PR while in Canada and not go back to their country. But if you use the phrase "moving to Canada" while only having visitor status, even if you have applied for PR, the officers are obligated to act upon that and prevent your entry.
My partner came with me to Canada halfway through the processing and we had no problems. We explained that we wanted to wait out the app in Canada together and that if it wasn't approved, we would return to the UK. The officer didn't even ask for bank statements or for the return ticket we had just in case; he just asked how much money we had, told my partner not to work and waved us on.
No, it just means that it is the address where you currently are. It's fine, a LOT of people on here (my partner included) did it. CIC needs to have your current location on file.SadieRoo said:if I change my address tho wouldnt that be intent to stay in Canada with my husband rather then visiting? I know these questions to some people might be a little crazy but I guess we are all in the same boat and just trying to get by with the support of others here so I appreciate you all...
