Sponsorship App approved Nov30,2010 (34days to do)
Application recieved in Singapore Dec09,2010
Appication now "In Process" May26,2011

My wife's passport has expired and she got a new passport. Singapore actually replied to our emails about it. Had us scan the new passport and email the copy to them. Which hopefully doesn't screw up things.
Now my wife's medical report (done Oct2010) will have expired because its good for 6months which had to be sent with the PR application.Waiting for an email reply about that, but I am sure it will cost us another medical report and more time.
When we applied it was 18months and now its 20months processing time which just changed on the website as noted in another post. I just keep saying I am glad my wife's app isnt done in Kenya with 31months.

That's our story to share so far.

1. Medical is valid for a year.

Hi mrwhat2do, (good name lol)

Singapore recieved my wifes(from Cambodia) resident application on March 10th so I will be watching for updates from you and hoping things go fast and smooth for both of you. :)

5.5 months until processing sounds good. :)

Well good luck and it looks like things are going good for you. Our application was recieved by Singapore on Decembre 8th, 2010, so pretty much at the same time as yours, but it still just says "Application Recieved" and that it is not in progress yet.

I'm going to have to email them and ask whats going on....

Wow we are onto the next stage already. The CAS said started processing May26 and my wife just received a the letter saying to send her passport which was mailed May30, which had all our photo's and receipts in. She received it June 4 in Ho Chi Minh City. Your guys paperwork must not be far off hopefully.
The info on the CAS page still says "In Process" so it is definately not kept updated to the process very well.

looks like standard procedure that they requested copies of latest passport details for the file - it doesn't mean the application is being processed

Yes, mine just switched to in process a couple days ago, so it would be nice if they requested for our passport too!

Hi Mrwhat2do,

Is your e-cas show medical results have been received yet?

That is very good news mrwhat2do! I am sponsoring my wife from Hanoi and my status also hasn't changed from received yet. Hearing this makes me hope for a quick turn around too!

Yup under my ecas it says medical results received. This is what it looks like when I click the "In process" link:
We received "Wifes name" application for permanent residence on December 9, 2010.

We started processing "Wifes name" application on May 26, 2011.

Medical results have been received.

My wife went to the IOM to drop off the her passport. Cost 35 dollars for the fee and she needed 4 visa size pictures and her IOM medical card she recieved after her exam. They said it she would receive a phone call in about a month to either 1-pick up her visa 2- require an interview 3-reject coming to canada. So I am hoping #1.

Oh. So it still may be a while. I thought once they requested the passport it meant she was approved.

Yeah! lenardparnold I thought so too because, I've seen a lot af people said that after their e-cas showed medical results have been received then Singapore office asked for their passports then done!!!

Sometimes ecas shows " Decision Made " later on.

It seems like Mrwaht2do case is already approved to me :)

I think so too. They can't just hold her passport for like 6 months if they need to wait for an interview.

This sounds good Mrwhattodo. :)

If it all goes smooth your total wait could be under 8 months and thats heartwarming compared to the 18-20 months listed.
