From my own experience, I confirm that most of the VO in HCM office looks very tough like they do not love their job

I believe that important things are:
- remember what you have written in your application
- study all the notes from GSM and how to give an answer
- Simply tell the truth DON'T LIE they are just waiting for a LIE/Misreprensentation to denied your application

If you go with your wife simply make sure you guys are telling the same story cause they are going to ask the same questions to you

!IMPORTANT at the end of the interview if VO says something like
- I have approved your application
- Next step is Re-Medical
- Returns your letters, photos, proofs but keeps some Administrative paper
- VO Smiles

You know you have PASSED

!IMPORTANT at the end of the interview if VO
- Does not say anything beside please way for a decision within 6 weeks
- Returns all documents to you and does not keep anything
- Does not smile or acts very cold

You know that you did NOT PASSED

Good Luk!

This is my updated timeline and some info

july 31 2015 - scheduled interview letter received - email
sept 5 2015 - interview
sept 9 2015 - re-medical and additional documents request
sept 11 2015 - In Process
sept 22 2015 - re-medical completed
oct 14 2015 - Decision Made and passport request (via regular mail)
oct 16 2015 - sent passport via CVAC

- red flags from GCMS notes - quick development of relationship - proposal only after 1 month of first meeting.

- interview in hcmc. only my wife went, i did not go because i had already went to vietnam to visit 4 months prior to the interview. traveled to Thailand together.

- was asked to leave mobile phone in locker before entering.

- was asked to provide all documents, proofs, pictures and anything else wanting the interviewer to see before sitting down to wait.

- questions were straightforward, like how many times i sent money, what i did, etc. no questions about my family. main questions and concern was why we decided to get married so fast after only a short period of knowing each other.

- interviewer asked wife to see her mobile phone. interviewer asked for the password and then went through it, probably checking pictures, chats

- interviewer asked for my phone number in canada and called me. did not reach me cause i was away from my phone. interviewer then asked for her dad's, mom's mobile number but when called, could not reach them either.

- after interview, the interviewer gave everything back because my wife did not bring the police clearance docs or the additional docs, which we should have done but didn't (my fault) and told her it will take up to 4 weeks to hear the results. my wife said after the interview was over the interviewer was smiling. interview took 40 minutes

- now waiting for call to pick up passport with visa and COPR, hopefully comes soon

Thank you canadavietnam and alex1234:

And congratulation alex1234 Im very happy for you.

With interview schedule letter there is a attached about update form do we have to fill up those forms or not for interview??

alex1234, did your wife had to do update forms for interview? what docs you had to include??

we received the interview waiting list April 04 2015, then I applied for visitor visa for my wife with a lot of docs and pictures and docs that is red flag in gcms to support it, with a paid round trip ticket leaving Ho chi minh Nov 23 return Jan 05 2016. so reason to visit, my birthday is Nov 26, and my wife would meet my 3 years old daughter for first time and be with us for Christmas and new year.
Me and my wife been together for 2 years got married year and half ago, I visited her 5 times, we went to Thailand for honey moon,
we talk on Viber and Skype 8 to 10 hours a day all docs provided lost of pictures we just bought a house in Vietnam in my wife name over $50000 CND.
All was submit on Oct 01 2015 for visitor visa, then we received the interview date Oct 22, interview date Nov 19.
my wife Passport is still at visa office with visitor application.
In GCMS flags :
1- No prove of ownership that I own 2 businesses ( which I submitted in visitor application)
2- my daughter was one year old and I meet my wife on line ( I had never been married but I have a daughter from caudal relationship )
3- not enough explanation about my x relationship. ( which I explain in my visitor application which is my daughter mom)

Do you guys think my wife interview is related to visitor visa time request ??

Hello, everyone

may someone share some experiences?

What I heard that it took long time to sponsor a spouse in the Singapore visa office.
What I saw in this forum that it less than a year.

My case, I sent application on September 2015,
how should I expect my timeline in the year 2015-2016?

Thank you everyone,

Expect a visa in Dec-February 2016 if you have a straightforward case.

If you have a case with lots of red flags, expect 1.5 to 2 years for the visa.

Hi all,
My wife just received a request for her passport and photos today.
I had sent in our applications on June 8, 2015 and after a hiccup for forgetting to include a couple of police clearance certificates, we seem to be on track.
Now, if she gets her visa/PR next month, how long does the visa last before it expires? I seem to recall it is good for 6 months but can't be sure.
I think she may want to stay in Vietnam until after the lunar new year in February 2016 but if she has to land in Canada within xx days of the visa issued date, I will have to start looking at flights to Canada now.

you should fill out the "updated applications forms" they requested like IMM 0008, etc, and bring them to the inteview. your police certificate, i think is good for one year, but i'm not 100% sure, so you might not have to update it. someone else here would probably know.

if you want, you could get the police certificate and if there's enough time, bring it to the interview. if not, that's ok. if they need it, they will request it after the interview. don't worry about the "civil documents"; they already have it.

The visa will expires on 1 year from the date of her medical exam or the expiry date on her passport, which ever comes first.
