i have 2 separate envelopes in my application: 1 is for sponsor, the other sponsored person. for the marriage certificate, which envelope do i put it in?

Everything you need to know is on the checklist that is provided. Marriage certificate goes with applicant, which is your sponsored person envelope.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3906e.pdf part 7 states "Provide birth certificates, baptismal certificates or other official document confirming relationship
(including all pages of Household Registries, if applicable) for you and each of your family members.
If you are married, you must include a marriage certificate".

thanks canhandvi and dragoon for your reply. :)

Hey Dragoon, why in your GCMS notes did they say you and your wife were not compatible? Do you guys not like to hug and get close when taking pics? Do you guys not smile when taking pics? etc

I'm just looking through all the old posts of people who got interviews to get an idea of what red flags they're looking for.

Yes, the VO wrote all in caps "DOES NOT APPEAR COMPATIBLE". Reasons being she is 2 years older and has a child. Also, translator inserted another person's name under my wife's house registry by accident (apparently this happens sometimes :o)

Don't understand the 2 years age difference, that's ridiculous on the VO's part, maybe now my 3 yr age difference is a red flag :D How did the interview go?

We sent passport on Friday, May 16 with IOM in Hanoi, but since it was late it didn't get sent until Monday.

Hi Dragoon,

My husband sent his passport a week later (May 26) through VFS Ho Chi Minh City. Please let us know when you receive the passport.
Thanks!

Still, "In Process"

Passport sent May 22
Decision made June 6...

Hey QPH, what did your GCMS notes say about your relationship? What were the red flags? Congrats on the Decision Made by the way

Another case...(read from another forum)
Vietnamese girl married a Canadien...
Jan 2013...File transferred to Sing
Jan 2014...Request for Re-med and passport
Mar 2014...They called her on the phone and interviewed her in English
April 2014...They returned her passport + Interview letter....

I only ordered the GCMS after receiving the interview letter (13 months after file went to Sing) to prepare for the interview... 2 red flags:
1) My wife's divorced paper from her ex was somehow missing.
2) My date of separation with my ex was after I met my wife (that was my mistake with the year when I have to fill out so many forms...)

At the interview, they started by saying " We have a few concerns that I want to clarify..." .After we provided them with the divorce paper and show them that was my mistake filling out the form, they said: "we are now satisfied with our concerns....."

What I would have done differently:
1)Sending in more proof as soon as you have them (trips to VN...) It's very important to prove that your relationship is still going after the file was filed, fake marriage usually stops from there. At the interview, they always ask for the latest proof (within the last year)
2)Ordering the GCMS note in advance, find out what are their concerns, what are missing...then forward to them.

If I had done so.... well... 3 freaking years of waiting... and this is my 2 cents....

I'm kind of dismayed seeing so many members here getting interviews, its scary to think about the things you guys have to go through. We absolutely don't want an interview because of the ridiculous 24 month wait time (which doesn't even count towards the processing time), that's why we did our best to put together a good application package and we just ordered our first set of GCMS notes today, which will be 1 month after Singapore got our application. We will also order a new set of notes every 2 weeks so we will be on top of whatever Singapore is doing to our PR application.

I don't think we have many red flags to begin with, so hopefully we can avoid the interview.
