@mikeymyke,
It took us 1 and a half months to do even though we got married April 5th but legally married on the 10th of April we had to wait for LLTP 2 and my husband upfront medical exam. We want our application to be right the first time since Vietnam holds the 2nd longest for processing time now 30months :( I kept looking over my package to make sure all of our forms we're complete and not missing any supporting docs. I thought 4.8 kg was not enough but yours was 5kg so close to ours! I was not aware that you could get your spouse a visa during the same time your submitting a sponsor application so I didn't look into getting my husband a visa. Does that reflect your application at all? If not then I would def look into getting a visa for him even two to three weeks would be awesome! It seems like your app status is moving well and that sing got your app in like a month! That's awesome, soo glad when I hear updates for sponsors!

Btw how do you upload your profile pic to your profile like you have on the side?

We got married on Dec 30, 2013, we were officially registered on Jan 13, 2014, but we didn't file until March 27 because we were too busy spending time with each other and on our two honeymoons, until I came back in early February. Also I made a stupid mistake, I thought getting criminal record #1 was good enough, but CIC specifically asks for #2, so I had to wait another 4 weeks for it to arrive before mailing my application.

Yes you can get your spouse a visit visa, but beware it is very hard. Not just because he's married to you, and you're his strongest family tie, meaning CIC will think he will not want to return. But also, Vietnamese have to also provide biometric data before entering, goes to show you how CIC feels about Vietnamese. Only ask for a few weeks visit, if you ask for more than a month , you will have a good chance of being denied. If he gets refused it's a very small affect on your application because under form IMM 5669, you have to check YES, for the question that asks if your husband ever been denied a visitor visa to Canada.

If you want to upload pic, just go to http://www.daisypath.com, after you upload pic, you copy/paste the link into your signature.

My wife checked on the vietnamese forums, and said the people who don't have interviews, seem to take around 1 year to get a visa from the time the application was sent to Mississauga.

on the back of photos, do we need the time of date, too, like 5:34pm? or just day, month, year is good enough?

Alex do you have Facebook? I'm online all the time, and I can answer your questions via chat if you want.

About your question, you don't need to add that info, but you really should because it will help the VO a lot when he/she is reviewing your file.

I just add the date and wrote the names of who was in the pics. I didnt write the location because I separated my pics into different bundles, like "Phan Thiet Honeymoon", "Malaysia Honeymoon" "Saigon 2012" "Saigon 2013", so they will know the location anyway. You don't have to write the names of people all the time if it is too redundant. For example, one of my photo bundles was "Wedding", one pic showed all the men, I just wrote the names of the men on one photo, and I didn't write their names again for the rest of the pics, because the VO should know by now who those people are.

thanks again mikeymyke, i will use your suggestion. i don't use facebook for some odd reason. ;D

haha its ok. Well I check this thread often, so whenever you post a question, you should get a reply very quick.

I heard that by someone here that the LLTP should be #1 so my husband went to get it done but then we were 100% positive and good thing we researched on the CIC website and found out it needed to be LLTP#2 so luckily my husband went to get that fixed and we waited about 3 weeks for that and that is why we took a bite longer to send in the application.

Did you put your barcode pages from Forms IMM008 and IMM1344 on top of all your application like it had mention in the sponsorship guide?

There are barcodes for the sponsor's application and for the applicant. I put the barcodes for my application on top of my application forms, and my wife's barcodes I put those on top of her application forms.

form IMM 0008 has 2 barcodes on the top of last page with signature on the bottom. do i put this page on top of the forms as well along with the barcode page with 8 barcodes? :)

I put the two barcodes pages for form IMM0008 and one barcodes page from form IMM1344 paperclipped on top of all my forms and supporting documents

I would put the marriage certificate in the sponsor folder since it has the marriage certificate listed under supporting documents for the sponsor. I hope that helps.

We sent passport on Friday, May 16 with IOM in Hanoi, but since it was late it didn't get sent until Monday.
