I'm currently in vietnam right now. I get back this Wednesday, so I'm going to apply for gcms notes. How long does it take do u know?

You can also order GCMS even you are in Vietnam. It's take 30 days to get the result/answer. Why do you have to wait?

My MP has received an update from Singapore. They said passport request was sent on May 2, so my wife will probaby receive the letter in 2 weeks.

That's good news, and IOM is operational again so your wife can send her PP through them.

I just got mail from Singapore today . They sent us back our package of pictures, plane tickets etc . But still no mail about interview or not. It's been almost 20 month. Before we had mail sent to his home in vietnam but change the address of his mail to our lawyer in vancouverr, I'm worried they sent interview letter within the time the mailing address was to his home. I'm super worried if he has an interview that we didn't know about.

It does sound like you have an interview, because if they return your entire package that usually means it's an interview. The letter for the interview should be inside your application, there were a couple members here who had the letter inside the whole time.

But I don't know why it took them so long to give you an interview letter. Usually people get their letters around 3-4 months after AOR#2.

just from my experience....
SVO did send back our photos and original greeting cards, valentine's cards,etc.....anything that was photocopied, they kept.
But I knew the interview was waived..from the 3 GCMS notes that i had ordered during the application process.

There should be a cover letter stating an interview is required if they are not satisfied with all your evidence. Getting everything back does not automatically mean you have an interview. Best order notes to see the VO's notes.

On a happy note my wife received passport request Friday morning. She is going to IOM in Hanoi to send passport.

Hey MikeyMyke it seems like you know a lot! I got married in Decemeber 2013, I sent my papers and it was received April 16th 2014. I dont think they even open my file yet, but please give me updates on your case, when did you send your papers?

Hi Hoang,

Thanks for your compliment and welcome to the Vietnam thread I dont think I really know a lot, I just did a lot of research before sending my application to make sure my wife can come here as quickly as possible . I got your PM. Look at the updates just below my name. I sent the entire application to Mississauga on March 27, they approved me as a sponsor on May 8th, then it arrived in Singapore 4 days later, and then 4 days after that I got an email from Singapore saying they've received my application. So after that, its just a waiting game for me now.

Hey I got married in December 2013 too! In Saigon Your papers were received in April 16, that's still way too early to get any news from Missisauga. You will have to wait a couple more weeks at least to get SA I would imagine, based on the experiences of myself and other members on the March 2014 applicant thread.

When I sent my application, I made sure it was very solid and thorough because Vietnamese are heavily scrutinized with PR applications, here's a link to my proofs (search for my longggg post). Good luck Hoang

Very nice man! We've done things pretty similar! Except mine didn't weight 12 pounds.. Maybe like 2 lol... Hopefully it don't take long for us man, all we have to do now is wait and pray.

Hello ... My wife applicant just went on Decision Made on April 25. Does anyone wife just went on Decision Made recently and got the Visa already? How long does it usually take for IOM or Canadian embassy in Vietnam to call to pick up the Visa ... Please let me know if your wife already pass through the experience. Thanks ...

Update: My wife finally got a call to pick up her Passport and Visa ... So excited ... the waiting is almost over .... ))

tuoicao, letter is with all your returned documents. If you do not receive interview letter then I think it is waived. I would order GMCS notes to verify.
