Hi, I am currently sponsoring my wife over to canada. Singapore office has received my wife's application on March,17, 2011. Singapore Immigration office requested a DNA for my wife, son, and was handed in on june with positive results. Now ECAS has removed the address and added "We started processing NGUYEN THUY UYEN TRAN's application on November 7, 2012." What does that mean? No request for passport yet.

Any help would be much appreciated.

It mean she should get PPR, re-med and criminal background check very soon. How come your application took so long, did your wife got interview?

No interview yet, we did not recieve a letter from singapore asking for additional information about our son which is now 2 yrs old, and when we found out about the additional request it was 7 mths late.

Just curious...Why your wife & son need to complete the DNA test? Are you a Canadian Citizen? if you are then your son is a Canadian Citizen by birth.

I am a canadian born citizen and singapore asked me for dna test for my wife, son and me proving our relationship as a couple, because they said the evidence we provided is not sufficient for them to believe that we are truly married. My son's canadian passport and canadian citizenship are done without asking for a DNA test, only singapore asked for a dna test to prove our relationship.

wow what BS. why would they need a dna test to prove relationship is genuine. the things they get you to do is mind boggling sometimes.

Keep me posted when your wife gets interview letter. My wife's letter was dated nov 4 2011 but she received it on nov 11 2011. My wife is also in HCM city so they should be going more or less at the same time.

@ Dragoon the letter I am referring to is the first letter telling her she is on the waiting list for interview.

I am sure once one of you receive the interview letter confirming date and time all of you waiting will have it. Cuz this is what hapenned to bangladeshi applicants dealing with singapore, 4,5of us in this forum received the interview schedule with time& date a day or two after. So all of you keep posting if any news so the other can expect theirs. Goodluck hopefully the scheduled letter is coming soon.

Does Singapore send a letter by mail requesting Passport,Medical check up, criminal records or do they email? If by mail do they mail to both my wife's address in Vietnam and Mine's in Canada? Because currently I am in Vietnam.

They send that letter by mail to your wife along with the photos and the evidences that you submitted.
