Hello everyone,

Does "passed" (not rec. passed) on the assessement page of GCMS notes means conclusively passed or the officer review is still needed?

If it's passed the officer review, there will be something along the lines of that in your notes, "officer review, file reviewed, eligibility passed". Are you an outland candidate?

Looking at the dashboard on myimmitracker, even late 2019 AORs of FSW-O are not cleared. I'm not even at the beginning of the waiting queue.
I just don't understand why applications are being sent to that office if it is already facing huge backlogs. Why not send to an office with a smaller backlog?

I think base on notes, may of those applications are processed and they are just waiting to get a final approval after everything is passed or renew of medicals or on hold for whatever reason.

Ottawa has 9000 employees. There is no office that is large enough to share their workload. But I agree that inviting 5000 every two weeks when they are not processing applications seems to be a unreasonable move.
From vaccine rollout to processing immigration applications, it just shows the incompetency of the government.

Vaccine rollout is difficult because Canada has no domestic capacity to manufacture vaccines. I am hoping the situation gets better as there are more supplies and the US finishes up vaccination in late Spring.
In terms of processing immigration applications, it's hard to foresee how the pandemic is going. While I agree they don't seem to have planned it well, I appreciate the fact that they still sent out large volume of ITAs which demonstrates their commitment to immigration. What I fear most is a government that cuts immigration (possibly a conservative government).

That's exactly the point. Canada is the only G7 country that has zero capacity to manufacture vaccines and has to ask Europe to not cut supplies.
A conservative government is coming if the current one is doing a crappy job. The liberals have a minority government and lost the popular vote in the last election.

You are not yet PRs and you think you have a say as how to run the country. Let's focus on the applications at hand and be thankful that we are even given the opportunity to benefit from the good of Canada. If our home countries were heaven on Earth, then we won't be seeking relocation to their country. Wait till you can vote there before forming opinions on how to run the country. #mypersonalopinion

Let's not go off topic here. Canada is also the only G7 country which is kind enough to give us a chance to become PRs like this. We should focus on that and appreciate that. Let's hope some of the restrictions are lifted soon and we get to see some movement out of this office.
