OTTAWA Case Pilot Office - for 2007 London Applicants only

so strange!
got an email from Ottawa asking me to confirm that my address has not changed.
I wonder if it is to ensure that they send the letter for passport request to the right place, although I thought they would send this via email.
It is odd to have received two emails from them when I have never emailed them first, they seem to be getting quite proactive.
Also, they may be sending me something else or they may need more documents! who know.

Normally they don't ask for any documents after medicals so i personally believe that hopefully ur PPR is on its way. It's weired though coz i also thought that PPR would be by email but who knows. It's like we were thinking that we'll be receiving meds by email but that didn't happen, like they send an email of meds with forms and post them as well. Fingers crossed for you edupolo and i hope that you received ur PPR soon.

So I guess that once we send them to the London High Commission, then they forward them to Health Canada in Ottawa and then they forward them to Ottawa immigration office to perform the criminal checks.

I can't believe it has been over 2 months since I sent my medicals.

Anyone else has received the med request? How many of us have actually received them? Me, M+JM, Ericznet... anyone else?

i applied in sep07 and i have done my medical last week.

I applied in sep 07 and submitted my updated application and other documents (june first week) thru consultant in canada. I am waiting for medical request. :'( :'(

Hey ericnzet, can you share your experience of medicals, where did you go, how was it, what did they ask you and how much did it cost? I think you had it done yesterday if i am not wronggg.

Yes we've done our medicals!!!!

We were actually five of us (me, my wife and 3 kids). We’ve done our medical in Health Bay Polyclinic, Dubai on Oct 2. It was smooth and quick (no hassle at all) but hopefully the results are perfect.

They’ve done the following:
1. Collected our urine sample(for all of us)
2. Checked our weight, height and eyesight (for all of us)
3. Checked our blood pressure (for me and my wife)
4. Collected our blood sample (for me and my wife)
5. Took a Chest X-ray (for me and my wife)

All the above were done by the nurse and med/x-ray technician. Then the doctor cross-examined us further (checked the ears, throat, breathing, heartbeats, abdomen). After all the checking, she sat down and asked questions (while completing the questionnaires at the same time). She doesn’t seem to be friendly but she’s okay though.

Then, the staff nurse (who’s responsible of the paper works) explained that she’ll try to gather all the results and arrange to send it to London by courier within 5 working days. My wife inquired about the results if she’s going to inform us before sending it but she said no. They are not allowed to inform us at all. She told us that we’ll be contacted by the CIC if there’s anything wrong. I really hope that everything is okay.

Total cost for five of us was Dirhams 2,260.00 (about £ 386), including courier charge.

We are very surprised when we got a text message on Monday (2 days after the medical) that the shipment was in-transit already. Then the following day (Oct 5) got a confirmation that it was delivered to CIC London. ;D

Now the timeline is really getting shorter. Hopefully the PPR will come soon for all of us!!! and Med Request for the rest .

hey Eric, good to hear that your medicals went well. I hope that you receive ur PPR shortly. I hope that i receive my medicals any time this week as i received email 2 weeks ago and still nothing which makes me wonder.

did your medical request letter say anything about processing times for your medical?
Apparently some guys who are london applicants but from july and august 2007 and therefore being dealt by London instead of Ottawa were told to allow 2-3 months for them to process the medicals. Also, many of these guys have been sending letters to the London embassy and they were advised not to expect any passport request until January.

Hi edupolo, no timeline nor hint was mentioned on when the medical results will be processed ....except that for one clause that they marked it as IMPORTANT: Immigration medical results are only valid for 12 months from the date of the examination. If you have been .....ETC...ETC...

Hi Guys, another Ottawa applicant(i believe because of same timelines) on trackitt has also received his meds today. HE sent his docs in April 2010. He can be traced on trackitt with his username aaround.
Edupolo that's right about passport request letters being issues in early next year, i have seen so many applicants who were told that they won't be hearing from CHC London before Jan next year. But remember we are being processed by Ottawa, they'll do everything and once they are done than they'll direct CHC London to issue us visas. One of the applicant M+JM was also told by CPP-Ottawa that they won't be issuing any visas to most of the applicants this year and are expected to issue earlier next year. However edupolo you might receive something this year as they have confirmed your postal address and also you sent ur meds in July. Fingers crossed.

Thanks, in a way it is ok if they dont ask for my passports until January because i am on a project contract until August anyway and I have to be going in and out of the country quite a bit in November and December, so it would be a bad time to be without my passport. However, if I go to the high commission in person, they say that I can pick up my visa in two weeks only, which is what i will end up doing since I only live a couple of streets away from them.

On the other hand, I would like to get it ASAP so that I can get this process to be over with.
