Hi,

If you open the FAQ link (https://eservices.cic.gc.ca/rescalc/redir.do?redir=faq) of Citizenship and Immigration Canada, you will find the answer in Q2 - How is the residence requirement for citizenship calculated. When you're staying in Canada under OWP, every day of your stay until you receive the PR status, is counted as 0.5 days.

You become eligible for citizenship after you've stayed 3 years (1095 days) in Canada as a permanent resident. Thus, if you stayed 180 days in Canada under OWP, you will receive a credit of 90 days towards your count for citizenship.

Hello Folks,
1 year =6 months
2years =1 year
3 year =1 year
4 year =1 year
5 year = 1 year and so on.....

You can only get max of 1 year from your Canadian experience before getting PR.

Interested on this one too. I am planning to go to CA via OWP this coming Feb 2014. Appreciate the feedback of those who had experience switching from OWP/TRV to PR. Thanks.

CIC sent me an email this week requesting police certificate. I called them and asked, why they need me to resubmit the certificate and they replied that police certificates are valid only for 3 months and since I submitted mine 11 months ago, it is no longer valid.
