Hi Rane,

Go ahead and apply only for your OPW first, also clarify with the visa office you are going to apply to if you need a TRV (I think you do, since you are from India) to enter Canada. You will have to send your original passport for the TRV since it gets stamped on your passport. If you want your family to come to Canada with you, you will have to apply for TRV once you get your visa done.

Hi All ,
Among all the application that I have filled since 2006 till now , the OWP application is the most confusing one ,

Guys I have a very important question , As per the check list , we should send the original passport ,

Shall you send the original passport for all family members with the OWP application ???

Yes i have already sent the original passports to Newyork consulate, because it was required by the checklist and i strictly foolowed the checklist. Nothing else.

1) Canada sent us nominee certificate stamped COPY on it....should i send this original(with stamped COPY) or should i send the copy of it...?
Ans. I sent the copy of it. And already got AOR AND Medical request in August.
2) Canada sent us on letter(based on 4 pages with nominee certificate). Should we send original letter or should we send a copy of it?
This is the letter in which general information is given like WELCOME TO ONTARIO and so on....
Ans. I sent the copy of that, No need to send the original documents until and unless not written in checklist.

3) should we send a notarized photo copies of all the document like our passport, ID cards.. and so on?
Ans. No, but if any document that is translated in english, in that case both documents should be notarized with an affidavit. I did like that, but if you can notarized all of the documents it would be good. But i followed strictly the checklist.
4) Should we send the original Police certificates?
Ans. Yes
5) what should be format and size of the self-addressed mailing labels..whether it is on separate A4 size paper for English or Urdu or something like this...?
Yes i just typed in Font 14 bold, two time my address on A4 paper.
6) only 1 DD is enough for all family members for fee or should i make separate DD to pay fee?
I have made ONE DD for all family members....
Yes it is fine, but it must be in Canadia dollars.
7) how CIO will recognize the DD that is my DD in case if they misplace DD because there is no option to write DD number on the fee form?
You should keep a copy with you, and just attach with paperclip on the top of you application, nothing would happen Insha Allah.
8 ) is it CHC - London or is it CIC - London....immigration office for Pakistanis ?
Yes

Hope this will help. Any confusion, you are welcome to ask.

very helpful Malisa and thank you very much..i have last confusion that ...

1)so should we send the original transaction notarized document or copy of that because i have already english translation certificate of my ID cards when i submitted my document for PNP in MAY2012......

3) you did not answer me the last question...is it CHC - london or CIC - London..

Hi Zain92,

Here the answers to your queries 1, 2 & 4

1)so should we send the original transaction notarized document or copy of that because i have already english translation certificate of my ID cards when i submitted my document for PNP in MAY2012......

Ans : Send the copy of the translated documents .. if you check the document checklist it asks for copies only.

2) i am confused about affidavit.. i never sent them affidavit for my translations..

Ans: No need for any affidavits, copies of notarized english translations will do

4) what is current occupation and intended occupation in IM0008......is it employer or is it profession...?

Ans : Its your current occupation, i.e the designation or role you are playing currently and what you intend to do once you come to Canada.. e.g Marketing Manager, Finance Analyst. Your intended occupation should match or be similar to the roles in the NOC code you have opted for.

Ans. It is just an stamp and will be provided by the person who has translated your documents from Urdu to English "that the person is authorized to translate the documents and knows both the languages" Usually it would already be on your documents if you have translated from any professional translator. It was written in the instruction guide thats why i took it serious otherwise it is upto you.

3) you did not answer me the last question...is it CHC - london or CIC - London..

I am sorry i cant answer! But you can ask with "Rawalpindi", he had applied from Pakistan and recieved AOR, he can better guide you in this.

4) what is current occupation and intended occupation in IM0008......is it employer or is it profession...?
Yes, Zain is right. Current occupation is what you are doing now and your intended occupation can be your current occupation as i wrote"Administrative Officer" in both.

Hi Members
Quoted below is wendys post on FB yesterday

</Quote>

Study, Work, Stay: Opportunities Ontario Hi xxxx, No, you only need to apply for your open work permit. This open work permit will allow your spouse to work as well. She does not need to apply for a separate Temporary Resident Visa.

</UnQuote>

That means ??????????????................
We fill the forms and apply only for principal applicants OWP. Just include your spouse/kids passport and leave rest to CIC and hope for the best...
As per above CIC should stamp the TRV in the passport of all family members and issue the OWP under which spouse can work.
Lastly we need to pay only 150 CAD.

Going by above i feel its better to apply for OWP only after we receive the AOR which has the UCI linked to our old application.
There by local CIC get full access to our PR forms and they know better who all are present in the application.

Do we have any better suggestions/comments or Understanding. Make me more confused.

Hi,

I asked one of my relative who resides in Canada to call CIC's call center toll-free no and clarify all the queries we have. So, this is the info we received from CIC call center, "Everyone who requires an OWP needs to fill work permit form, TRV form and Additional Family Information Form". We need to abide by all the documentation mentioned in checklist for every applicant.

Regards,
Rane

Hi Pradeesh and Rane

You are so much appreciated if you can tell me , how much am I supposed to pay for 4 family members with one work permit and 2 TRV ?

Hi again ,
Anybody knows whether the TRV is multiple entry Visa or single entry Visa ?

Hi all ,
after surfing in the web , I think we can find some answers to our questions related to the required fees for an OWP in the below link

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/fees.asp

bear in mind that we should differenciate between WP and TRV , each have its own fee and they should be counted seperately

hope it was helpful

thank you so much every thing has been cleared in my mind thank you so much...

just the last thing i would like to know for fee payment..

if i am paying my fee as a principal applicant , i would write my name on form that is fine...

there are two other options like

NAME OF PAYER(if other than the principal applicant)
PAYER ADDRESS(if other than the principal applicant)

becoz i am principal applicant so should i write "NOT APPLICABLE" in above questions or should i leave blank?

thank you so much....

@Zain
Just leave them empty

@All
In this world of confusion I finally decided to do this way :

I will apply for OPW just for main applicant. I'll send two receipt (Total 300 CAD) for me and my spouse, and I'll send my application tomorrow. Let's see what happens next.

Hi Maryam ,
Wish you the best
but have some questions here please ,

1- what do you mean by 2 receipts (is there any form to fill for paying the fees ?
2- how are you going to send the application by person or coriour ?
3- how did you count the 300 CAD
1 work permit is 150 + 2 TRV (150 for each ) is more than 300 ?
Please correct me if I am wrong and apologize for long questions but so confusing really ,Thanks dear

Zain,

I have already replied to your query its CHC- London( Canadian high commission) I hope now u ll be satisfied.
