Wowwww Ell.Bee, CONGRATS BRO!!

Thanks everyone :)

chigirl - I have until 1st May 2011 to submit my passports (60 days).

Hey Ell.Bee quick question.. Did u submit your app to CIC in May 2010??

Hi,

Hi I had sent my application to CIC in March 2010. It was returned in May 2010 for corrections and asked me to pay the new fees that took effect from April. I sent the application with corrections and new fees in May 2010. When the application was returned, it had a red stamp with date of March 2010.

Guys now I am sure they are processing from the date the application was received.

Thanks,
L.B

dear_pnp,
yes, Its been more than 12 months that I applied to CIC. Besides me, there are few other folks from June/July medicals STILL waiting to receive PPR.
Reason: No body knows for sure.
The visa officer wasn't sure about the time it might take and he didnt commit any timeline as he didnt want to give a false assurance. It makes me believe that the somebody else is yet to take action on the file - Who & Why? we dont know.

Besides USA, I travelled and lived overseas. Also I lived in different states in the US. I submitted all the PCC's (Overseas PCC's, FBI and also US state PCCs) along with my CIC application. I dont think there is anything that might complicate make my application.

On a lighter note, The only thing that I find to be complicated is my LUCK :'( :'( :-\

Hope to hear some good news for atleast few of us in the forum.

Hey Avalap:

So you mean to say even though you completed 12 months since application, 90 days after file transfer, it is still not sure when you will receive the ppr. Oh Mannn thats a pretty long wait, I wont be able to wait that long, every day is an opportunity lost for me.
He said it wont take that long, any idea or did he give any approximate time line as to when you will receive the ppr? I mean a month from now. What do you think?
Also is your case complicated which is making it so long? I mean adding children etc etc, travel to multiple places etc etc....
Keep in touch bro.

Hi all, I have been following the forum for a while.
Here is my situation, I have done my Medicals on July 30th 2010, my file was transferred to Seattle on Nov 17th 2010 to Seattles office. I got a request from them on Jan 14th 2011 for the DOB Certificates which I sent on Feb 1st, I got a mail today requesting FBI Certificates for me and my wife stating they expired on FEB 20TH. All of you know how long they take, I am worried that by the time I send the FBI Reports my Medicals would get expired or I wouldnt have enough time to get stamped or do Landing. I dont understand one thing, do the FBI Certs be valid by the time they request the Passport? I just missed it by a week, thats BS, I have applied for the New FBI certs today but was just wondering if I can email theSeattle office explaining that they were valid when they first acted on my application. Please post you thoughts

Its been 2yrs 3 months I started the process and they call it Fast Paced.....

Folks who already did the landing following are a few thing that I wanted to understand:

- I understand most of the folks from US are doing landing and coming back and planning to move to canada at a later date how can we transfer funds from US to canada afterwards.
- Also once we land do we automatically become liable to pay taxes on income outside canada or is it based on the fact that you have to live for more than 183 days.
- Funds transferred at a later date of landing are they tax deductable.

Please advise.

Thanks

Guys,
We landed at the Calgary Airport last wednesday around noon...the line was long but as soon as we go to the officer...i mentioned that we were doing our landing and immigrating to Alberta..he asked us to wait in another line...the other line took about 45 mins or so..but as soon as our turn came up with lady asked us...why are you coming to Alberta only for 7 days....i said i have a meeting with a prospective employer and to check the place out... immediately she stamped our passports...within 5 minutes we were done.
The next morning we went to Services Canada office to get out SIN numbers...took us an hour to get that.

On a separate note..does anyone know how to transfer us credit history to canada?
