Hi,
Is it possible/allowed to land in Toronto and then proceed to Alberta?
Am planning to leave my family at a relative's place in Toronto (for few weeks) till things are setup in AB (Don't want to land in a totally unknown place with a toddler)
Will there be questions in Toronto Airport during landing on why we are not landing in AB?
Also, I don't know anyone in AB. Is it ok to give that Toronto relative's address for sending the PR cards? Will there be any problems? Please advise.

By the way, Kudos to guys who have gotten the PPRs and stamped passports. Good to know the queue is steadily moving.
The queue is steadily moving for Lucky guys like you LOL.This is what I know You can land in Toronto for sure and leave your family there. However the address you give for PR card mailing has to be an ALberta Address.
I know the wait must be killing, RJ and wish you good luck for happy news soon. Sending an email to your consulate wouldn't hurt I guess.
Do you have any PCCs or some document left to be sent? I mean something like this could definitely bring your case's attention to the officer in LA (Marilyn is the name I believe) who usually attends to them and calls the person.

And, May I know the basis of your information that the address for PR has to be in AB? Is it stated somewhere in CIC or AINP website? Just asking for a confirmation.
May I ask

Don't you think the fact that Alberta is nominating the applicant is a pretty strong fact? You are there just because of them...so pretty sure they will not send pr for other addresses but alberta...

Seinfield,Yeah the wait is not funny and I'm not a very patient guy so I decided to get on chill pills.
Concerning additional docs I send State PCCs to the LA consulate once I found out that the CIC was requesting state PCCs from others.
That brings US to the big question here.Remember that you signed and agreement with Alberta when they nominated you that you were going to live there. So by giving the immigration officer a Toronto address for mailing of PR is defaulting that agreement at the very beging of your presence in canada. You might wanna think about this bro.

Seinfeld,

the document applicant signs states the "applicant intends to live in Alberta" while it is not legally binding , its definitely in
good faith ....

apart from seeking info here, the legit bet is to contact your nomination officer or alberta hotline ... and discussing
with them your particular situation

I can imagine your worries. But i would encourage you to stop worrying. As immigration doctor deals will lot of cases every day. However it is our first experience so we get worried about small things. Dont worry they will accept it. good luck i have not got my medical yet. :)

Based on my experience, I wouldn't be relaxed either. I was asked for replacement X-Rays for all my eligible family members. I distinctly remember doctor gave me confirmation that all the reports are good to go. Immigration people can do miracles either ways ;)

I guess all these problems would be solve if they updated e-Cas every time the receive documents/ cash check, request more docs... etc...

I guess that's the reason why one should ask for CAIPS if the process is taking too long....

Good suggestion Inge...

How long should one wait before start ordering CAIPS? I went to the site and it could take 5-6 weeks before receiving the file. Might be too late if ordering too soon?

Anyone here has ordered CAIPS file? How accurate was it?

google it - there are couple institutions who have same services. Vary in fees and services.

It's basically checking processing of PR application thru 3rd party (somehow interconnected w/ CIC). Wish US has this kind of system as well.
