So finally wait is over last day of 2010 was the best. We received an email from buffalo to submit our passports for visa.we have to submit before january 30.
So the new year starts with a great news.

Can you please post you time line please.

well i actually started in 2008 October, but due to addition in our family we have to wait for almost a year, so our process start on Jan 6 2010. And our medical was also gone twice (first in march, i.e husband and wife and then in july i.e of baby).

so now we need 2 photograph for each family member to send it with passports.

Hi,

If you are moving or returning to Alberta from outside Canada, you may be eligible for coverage on the date of your arrival. To ensure coverage, you must register within three months of arrival. Newcomers to Canada are required to present a copy of their Canada entry document.

I have a very important question if seniors can reply, my passport will expire on june 6,2011.so it makes less than 6 months from now. So if I send passport in a day will it be problem?
I am trying to search for this but don't see any validity requirement.
Any comment on this will be really apreciated.

From the passport request email that we got it says:

Passport requirements

We require an original VALID passport for yourself and every accompanying family member.

Passports for all accompanying family members must be submitted together.
Passports must be valid for at least the next 6 months, or at least until the date of your intended travel to Canada. There must be at least one blank page in your passport. If there are children included in your passport, there must be blank pages for their visas as well.
The immigrant visa that is to be placed in your passport will show an expiry date. You may enter Canada anytime before the expiry date shown on the visa; this date cannot be extended. If you fail to enter Canada before this date, you will be required to reapply and submit a new application and processing fee.
Please note: Immigrant visas cannot be placed in Diplomatic, Official or Military passports.

From my understanding of above, it can be valid for less than 6 months but your PR visa will cease to be valid when your passport expires so you have to travel to Canada before it does. Let's also wait for what others have to say.

You will have to complete your landing before your passport expires. If you are planning to return to the US, you will have to do that before your passport expires. You can then apply for a new passport. If you enter US withing 30 days, you will retain the validity of your current i94. If you get a new i94 the validity of new i94 issued will be same as the validity of your passport. So try to retain the existing i94 when you return if that is longer than the validity of your passport.

If you have 30 days for your passport request, you could go to your nearest consulate and ask for extention. Some consulate can give the extension as early as the same day in case of emergency travel. Call your consulate and ask them about the procedure. You might have to book tickets to prove that you are about to travel outside the country. This all depends on the country that has issued your existing passport.

Depending on your landing plans you will have to take the necessary action.

Thank you guyz, we plan to travel in mid of march as i have heard the weather conditions are moderate in march. our pictures are ready, today we are going to send them with passport.
Thanks for your help.

Mailed in my passport yesterday.
