I am a US citizen.
My mom lives in the middle east and does not have access to the internet to apply for her tourist visa online.
So I am doing it for her from here in the US.
I gathered all the documents, created a CIC account, logged in and submitted all the required documents.
So far so good.
That was a week ago,
I have since received two emails saying there is an update to my application.
I log in to see the update but there is no update.
The status is the same and hasn't changed from "open".
Question, why does the CIC send an email saying there is an update when there aren't any?
I am concerned that there is an update but its not being properly reflected on the portal.
This new online process is frustrating to say the least.
There isn't even a number I can call to check on the status to make sure that they are not waiting on any additional documents from us.
Any help for recourse is much appreciated.
