In online Oath ceremonies- ppl in this forum shares that they will make you cut your PR card.
So are you travelling outside of Canada? if yes, so to return back to Canada you will need your PR card.
If you travel on ur current passport (NOT CANADIAN) going out of country will not be an issue but returning to Canada may.
You can ask in your ceremony if you can come back in country on the Oath Certificate and later apply for Canadian Citizenship?
As far as I know you have to be in Canada for the interview if your IELTS is in Canada
You can have an interview when you are outside of Canada. But you cannot take an Oat Ceremony - When outside of Canada.

I was just saying what others experienced before until someone was told by their local office it's OK. Did you do the interview while outside Canada? There are people asking because they are outside Canada and scheduled for the interview soon, and if they could, they don't wish to book tickets to come to Canada.

Could somebody be kind enough to answer my question? Thanks in advance!

New tracker got updated today and everything changed to completed except citizenship ceremony.

While, old tracker still "in progress" and no update yet.

When am I supposed to know when a decision has been made?

Hello Vijay, does all sections show as completed for you. I finished my citizenship test on Oct 7th and citizenship status show as completed, others in progress. What worries me is, my partner who took the test the next day, have all the status show as completed.
Except Citizenship test which is complete after 1 week of taking test and rest all in progress including BG

now its says Updated: September 28, 2021 , but nothings changed..
Anything yet? July11th for us and nothing yet. Where are you? I guess they say it makes a difference. We're essentially in Vancouver.

Sorry no idea on your question. Why don't you connect to someone in other threads.

Hi, I have one more query related to the test. While taking the picture of my photo id, I had to stand and take the picture as it was clearly stated that face shouldn't be visible. Though my face wasn't visible at all, some part of me like my t-shirt was visible. Would that be ok?
I'm sure that's not an issue.

Hey there,

I passed the online test on June 18. A couple of days ago, I checked the application status; everything was updated to the green (except the oath). However, it still shows the status "in progress". I checked ECAS, but it seems like they do not update my profile after March 2020.

Has anyone experienced the same?
Are you still waiting for the oath ceremony? I'm assuming it's still in progress as you have not been granted citizenship yet, and would only be complete once you've done the oath and received the certificate, or at least had it sent out.

Hello! I'm in the GTA area. Anyone experienced everything going into complete except oath, decision made also. Been that way for about 6 weeks.
Oath is saying 'not started'. Just trying to gage is anything will happen soon.
Suppose to be "within 3 months" 31/2 for us and no invitation. Someone on here said 1-4 months but I'm guessing it's more like 5. Seems a little random. Then it's "suppose" to be 1 month to receive the certificate after that, and 1 month after passport application to get that. I have to say I'm not really buying those time lines either so... don't book your winter vacation just yet, or next summers for that matter.

Applied June 2020, AOR in Jan 2021, Citizenship Test taken July 02 2021, Test marked Complete July 09 2021. Been 3+ months since and no updates still. Saskatoon office. The wait is getting rediculous.
Faster than ours but I still feel you. We applied end of January 2020, received Feb 2nd though it took almost a year to acknowledge that, test done on July11th, the day after the invitation, PR took 3 years, but many have been waiting longer than us for oath, and I know people who waited 5 years for their PR so in typical Canadian fashion all I can say is... could be worse! Best of luck for an oath ceremony soon.

Have you tried asking if you can take the interview from outside Canada? Which office is processing your application? I've been scheduled for an interview and I'm outside too. Just trying to figure out if I can take it outside.
I got a reply from Surrey office

Hello,

Thank you for your email. Kindly be advised that you can still attend the MS Teams video session from outside Canada (you must have received a notice inviting you to the session along with the MS Teams consent form). Please note that we require you to sign and submit the MS Teams consent form no later than tomorrow, October 29th, 2021 to the following email address: CIC-Surrey@cic.gc.ca . Congratulations!!
I know you can apply for Express passport service so you can get it in a week or two.
However, to apply for passport you have to have the Citizenship Certificate. I see in other threads that people are waiting for there Certificate after the Oath ceremony for 3-4 weeks.

put your question in the this thread.

What is your timeline?

For those who are curious about my interview yesterday (Calgary office):

The interview went well. The immigration officer asked to see my passport and IDs (Driver's license and PR card). She checked all the passport pages (visas and stamps). I was not asked to submit my passport pages because I submitted all the pages when I sent the application the first time. So, she just compared all the pages that she had in copy with what I was showing to her (since I'm outside of Canada, my passport had an extra stamp).

After checking the documents, she asked if I had the original copy of my IELTS certificate and I said that this document was in Canada. She said that it was okay. Then, she said that everything was fine and she was going to approve everything in the system and the statuses would be set to Completed in a few days, and I would be queued for the Oath Ceremony. She highlighted that the invitation for the Oath ceremony can take 1 to 3 months (I think it might take even more than 3 months, but that was what she said).

She said that they are swamped because of Covid and backlogs, and are even working on Saturdays (which is true, she replied to an email to me on Saturday). Since I’m outside of Canada, it will be better if it takes at least three months because I’ll be back only in January 2022. If I get an invitation before going back, she said that should reply to the email and ask them to postpone it (it’s a different department that schedules the Oath Ceremonies). She recommended doing that because she said that if I ask to take the Oath Ceremony outside of Canada, it will take much longer to get the invite as it makes the logistics to mail the certificate more complicated.

I checked the system today (one day after the interview) and all the statuses are set to Completed, except the Oath Ceremony.

I hope this information helps someone.
