Thank you. Wish us good luck in finding someone to take over our lease in Montreal, so we can go back living on the beach! 8)

Just to be sure that you are aware: as you have applied through Vegreville - inland - you are not supposed to go outside of Canada at all! if you do, and CIC finds out, your application will be deemed abandoned and you will have to start all over again - outland this time.
Living on the beach instead of Montreal at this time of the year does sound tempting though! :-)

Interesting post. At least your partner can come and go and you can do the same (in theory). We had to meet (and continue to do some) in other countries. He cannot come here (visa) and im too scared to travel to Mexico ! Thank G-d my parents taught me at a young age to invest wisely (RSP etc) This would not be possible otherwise !
There are so many twists and turns !

You need to stay positive ! You will win in the end !!!! 8)

Life is a journey !!!!

It's true, I'm in Toronto and he's in Pittsburgh - that's pretty close, but the border was impenetrable for him for 4 and a half years while his application for rehabilitation was being processed. Once we met in Paris - it was frustrating that he could enter the European Union so easily! In order to have a life together, I decided to visit him often, and the expenses forced me to sell my home. But relationships matter more than things.

All the best to you!

Just curious - why is Mexico so scary for you? Do other countries like Cuba seem more safe to you?

Too many stories about crimes against Canadians. Also, my parents have requested that I dont go there. I will always respect my parents ' wishes.

There are lots of bad people in Mexico. If they think you have money you can easily get kidnapped. (my partner was robbed last week in his town, and that was daylight)

We actully met in Cuba last year and hope to go to costa Rica next month. 8)

I have been to Mexico many times over the years, and hope to go again in the distant future. They are very warm people !

Costa Rica is nice. We spent a lot of turnaround days there in Caldera and often ended up spending long days at the Hotel Vista Golfo which is perched on the hills with the most amazing view and sunsets. The beach of nearby Puntarenas also has the most beautiful sunsets.

I love it! :-*

It's this time of the week again when you know you are due to receive Sponsorship Approval. Checking email every hour. Lol.

I hope CIC will make a hardworking week!

Just like to share something here. My husband and I just started something to ease our paranoia. We decided that we would pray together (like in skype) before I sleep, which is his nap time as well. We take turns in leading the prayer every night. It just helps a lot for us to always renew our faith to each other and to trust and be more patient that God is at work. :)

Good vibes everyone!

What a good idea :)

I try not to worry. It doesn't do me any good. I know we did a good application and if we forgot anything, we can fix it.

I'm an atheist so that wouldn't help! :) All I have is hope, and the certainty that after 7 years, my partner and I will remain together, even if we have to live apart.

But right now I just wish our COPR would arrive, it's been 3 weeks since the passport request!

Indeed! That's always my mantra after all the paranoia. I always think that whatever it was that we forgot or we need, we can fix it!

Wishing you the best on the arrival of your COPR! And I must say I commend your for having a strong relationship after 7 years of being a part, that is one thing to be proud of. :)

My friend told me about an author named Judith Meyer. She writes alot about God and worrying. :) If I get nervous, maybe I'll get her books.
