ON THE LIGHTER SIDE: Paranoia during the "wait"

LOL at "english speaking dog!" I've met dogs up here that are more bilingual than me.

No pets for me. Husband is allergic to everything with fur. I asked him if I could get a goldfish (this is while he spent 4.5 of our first 5 months here living 6 hours away from me), and he said, "I don't think that's a good idea." I thought he was joking, because he rarely denies me ANYTHING. ("Hey darling, can I buy a $600 elliptical? I know we're trying to pay aggressively into the mortgage right now, but it's going to be a long winter." "Baby, you do what you need to do.") So I asked, "Are you actually forbidding me to get a fish?" He said, "Well, you cry a lot right now, and fish don't live very long." Shucks, he has a point! ;D

And amikety, I missed that you were from Bing. We spent a night there on our move trip (drove from Oklahoma to Quebec over the course of a week). I have a dear friend who lives there. I met her on the same dating/socializing website where I met my husband, and she was actually the first one to predict that he and I would get married. Small world, eh?

Awww!!! LOL!!!! I know I want a pig!!! they are so cute and I am allergic to most animals too but since pigs are hypoallergenic I want it... But hubby doesn't or not yet!!! he has a point we just started building our house!!! We have our hands full!!!!

We had a potbellied pig growing up. Poor thing would hump buckets sometimes, I think for lack of a boyfriend of her own species. She did have a "special" relationship with a pony, though. He would nuzzle on her back to scratch her. Come to think of it, he was a bit potbellied, too.

I wouldn't want a dog, as I wouldn't want to have to go outside several times a day on certain winter days here (or deal with the muddy paw prints every time), and dogs are a bit of a hassle (boarding them for vacations, not being able to just crash at a friend's place if we decide to have drinks, etc), but if the husband wasn't allergic, we'd have a cat. *sigh* Cats, a life I knew and loved (where I could speak the language and had citizenship!), and any certainty about the future. Things I gave up for my handsome guy.

My nickname for my husband is the Bad Kitty, haha. You know how you'll have a cat in your lap, and you'll pet it for a while, and then decide NO MORE, so you place the kitty on the floor...then five minutes later, without knowing how, you find yourself petting the kitty in your lap again? The husband is like that with back scratching and rubbing at bed time. I'll tell him, "Okay, that's all you get, you spoiled brat!" Then, as I start to doze off, I'll find myself absently scratching his back again.

That's so funny! My cat has Zoey's personality. Marathon Lounger/Sleeper, but she's tiny and not so fluffy.

My brother, who is an engineer, was the cat's ....rhymes with witch... until the poor cat died.

I remember realizing that if I wanted to sponsor our dog to come to Canada all it would cost is a rabies shot. Our dog is more free to travel then my partner. And she has ticks and fleas. : So me and the dog are just waiting for his visa.

Haha, yeah, now that you mention it, I'm actually in a MOI (inconvenience). It's *quite* inconvenient to move to a different country, to a region where they don't speak my language, to have no money of my own, to leave all of my family and friends behind, to have a year and a half old nephew who doesn't know his "Tauntie Meg" anymore, to not even be able to visit...yeah, this is ANYTHING but a convenient marriage!

Hubs is trying to fix our threshold this morning. This is after discovering our porch light is pooched and breaking the lightbulb he was testing.

Every sentence has at least one cuss word at the moment.

Apparently they glued the threshold down in some place!
